Chapter 29
by Jpyric
He leaves before anyone can respond.
Wrap up
Everyone once again gathers in the meeting room that they started the day in. With a sigh Damon sits, giving the others a glance. “So, that was an unfortunate way to finish the day, but everything otherwise went quite well. Mike, I’m sorry for that last interview.”
Mike nods. “It’s fine, I understand that not everyone will like me.”
Alicia scoffs. “I know that Jerod. He has a bit of a grudge against us because Kyrie and I turned him down.”
Kyrie rolls her eyes. “Oh yeah, that jerk. I think he said something about ‘getting rid of the fairy and spending time with a real man’, ugh.”
Liam giggles. “He was just mad because he was hitting on me until I mentioned that I’m not a girl. I even told him we could pretend if he wanted!”
Alicia shakes her head. “You’re such a tease, Liam! You can do better anyway.”
Kyrie grins. “And besides, anyone who messes with our cute little snack isn’t worth keeping around!”
Damon clears his throat to get everyone’s attention again. “Anyway! Tomorrow we take the day off, but the next day we are going to try leaving the facility. I recommend everyone do some research on how the public is taking the news, so we can avoid any incidents.”
He looks at Mike. “As pleasant as it may be to have a pack of admirers descend upon you, that sort of thing would only anger and embolden the people who think like Jerod.”
Kyrie winks. “Don’t worry, cutie, we’ll keep you safe!”
Alicia nods. “We can be silly, but we take our jobs seriously.”
Liam smiles. “Especially when our job keeps an attractive alien out of harm’s way!”
Damon sighs. “Disregarding their flirting, they’re right. Now, I know there’s some plans for this evening, but all I ask is that everyone take it easy. It’s only been a few days, after all.”
He looks at Kyrie. “That means don’t break him, you maniac.”
Kyrie grins, winking at Mike.
“No promises!”
