Her opponent chose not to go for the remaining available PW, playing another long word LINEMEN. Thankfully it was only doubled, so just 18 points. Kayla still had a chance, but not much of one. She was down 42 points...

"Yes!" Kayla said aloud. She'd picked up a U. Now she could do it, she played QUICK on the PW tile for a whopping 80 points, and the lead.

Kayla watched the time run down. No quick reply, her opponent must be struggling to find a word that would win. Finally with one second left a single tile appeared. ME, 4 points.

"I won!" Kayla shouted. Then she frowned. Right, she'd won...but at what cost?

First the game offered her a reward.
