Over the next few minutes, the "bringerofdarkness is typing…" pop-up appears and disappears a few times before you finally get a reply.

Well that’s clearly a lie, but it might present an opportunity. It almost makes it sound like the “elaborate prank” theory should be higher on your list. If Poison made the KDK, then they would know about the 5-second registration process. It doesn’t sound like a long time, but it’s more than your average hug or handshake. So Poison will definitely realize what you’re doing if this is a prank, but then part of the prank would involve them understanding that you have to install and run the app to fix it.

Either way, the itch to solve the mystery has lodged itself in your brain. Not to mention how badly you want this app to be real. And if registering Poison doesn’t demystify any magical phone apps, it will still be worth it just to have them as one of your subjects. That makes two distractions that will prevent you from being productive today.

Experimenting at home with your family will make a great practice environment, since prolonged touch with them isn’t that weird. Registering Poison might be more of a challenge, but it also offers the biggest reward: Out of every potential new subject you can think of, they’re definitely the one you’re most excited for. You have no idea what their main kink might be, but any excuse to spend time with them is an honor you try your best to deserve.

Alright, it’s a date then. Well, not a Date date. But you should still probably dress up a bit. You’re also gonna have to whip up some corrupted code, so you’ll need to start getting ready for the bus, what? 5 minutes earlier than usual? Honestly, the makeup is gonna take you longer. You check the bus routes to the mall and figure that, all told, you can probably be there in less than an hour.

Now to get ready. You swap out your slightly dirty gray hoodie for a black one from the closet. With the clothing phase complete, you move onto makeup. You decide to spring for both lipstick and eyeliner, the latter of which you eventually give up on making symmetrical and resort to a smudging-driven smokey eye. With 10 minutes to spare, you throw together some screenshots and head out to catch the bus.
