After everyone picked out their swimsuits, the girls went their separate ways. Augmented Synthetic Humanoid Assassin returned to her room (no-doubt to put some of the things Carly taught her to use) and Ella, not wanting to be there when she did, decided to stick with Dawn. So she followed the cat girl and her goth roommate to the Luxury Suite, where the three of them could be nice and antisocial in peace, at least until it was time for Ella to get ready for work in the Master’s Suite.

On that note, the Master’s Suite was where Mary and Holly were headed for the day, and Rose wasn’t far behind them.

“Why are you tagging along?” Mary asked, raising her eyebrow. “Nick won’t even be there, you know. He’s still probably out with Amelia and Sylvia.”

“I know that,” Rose huffed. “This is why!”

She pointed to her hair, which had receded considerably since this morning. The Anime Black transformation she’d borrowed from Carly had run out of time, and now her hair had returned to the length it was supposed to be, still dancing around her ears. Rose had no idea how much BP she’d have to earn to get it back to its original length (or even longer!) but she didn’t like the idea of having to keep borrowing Carly’s transformation just to look presentable.

Method Acting was a tool at her disposal for getting ahead! Not something to spend every day using to keep parity! And since the Bounty Board still only had that one bounty up for grabs, and Rose wasn’t interested in it in the slightest, she might as well work the hard way.

Mary and Holly looked at each other, and shrugged.

“Well… Ella won’t have to show up for another couple of hours, so if you want to get some work out of the way early, that’s fine,” Mary relented.

“I still think there’re more efficient things you can do than just be a maid every day,” Holly pointed out. “Aren’t there other things on that bounty sheet of yours?”

Rose groaned. “It’s not as simple as you think,” she muttered.

“Why don’t you let me take a look?” Mary asked. “Maybe I can help!”

Rose stared at Mary like the redhead’s skin had just turned purple.

“…You want to help me?” She asked incredulously. Her head seemed to slowly shake all on its own.

Mary puffed up her cheeks with a huff and put her hands on her hips. “Well, not with that attitude, I don’t! Can’t you just accept when someone is trying to do something nice for you?”

The actress was completely taken aback. “N-no, no, of course I can!” She said, her cheeks turning red. “But I just thought… I mean… …Why?”

Rose would be the first one to admit that she could be a total bitch to Mary. She made no secret of her plans to usurp the redhead as the woman closest to Nick’s heart.

And yet Mary still wanted to support her? Just like that?

It made Rose feel all kinds of dirty and ungrateful. She could actually feel her skin crawl with shame.

Mary’s expression softened. “Rose… I still haven’t forgotten what you did for me back when I got eliminated.”

Rose blinked. She wracked her brain, but she had absolutely no idea what the other woman was talking about. “I… what did I do? It couldn’t have been that big of a deal.”

Mary frowned. “…You tried to sacrifice yourself for my sake, remember?” She reminded the other woman, getting a little irritated that Rose could forget something like that so easily. “I used my totem to give Sylvia my spot in the harem, and you stepped up to try and talk me out of it.”

Rose blushed. “That… that wasn’t for your sake!” She sputtered, shaking her head frantically. “I-I was just trying to convince you to stay in because it wouldn’t be fair if you weren’t in the competition! That’s all it was, it’s not like I care if you’re in the harem or not, you know!”

Holly giggled and Mary just smiled. The blonde’s frantic protests were completely unconvincing.

“You were looking out for me, so the least I can do is try and help you,” Mary said, patting her unwilling friend on the shoulder. “Let’s take a look at the sheet, okay? It’s still a few hours until I have to make dinner, maybe I can help you out somehow.”

“Uh… I don’t know about that,” Rose stammered as she brought out her bounty sheet.

Rose rolled her eyes and Holly doubled over laughing.

“Oh come on!” The diminutive maid cackled. “You can’t be serious, saying that!”

“Well, you’re going to be cleaning the Master’s Suite tonight for 100 BP, right?” Holly pointed out. “So essentially you’d be doubling how much you’re earning today.”

“Earning tomorrow, you mean,” Rose reminded her. “I just said, I’m not getting it until tomorrow. Plus, we’re going to the beach tomorrow! You think I want to be wearing a pet collar with my bathing suit?! Right there, in front of everybody!?”

Holly blinked, not quite sure what the problem was. “…Yes?”

“Not everyone is a degenerate like you,” Rose immediately replied.

“Hey!” Mary snapped. “Don’t call my degenerate friend a degenerate!”

“Hah!” Holly laughed.

Rose scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Thanks for the support you two, really, it means a lot. But even if I wanted to, I don’t know where I could even get one of these collars. “I have an idea,” Mary said, glancing at the Arcade Suite.

While the trio had been discussing what Rose would do with her bounty sheet, Vivian had gone for a more direct way of getting some BP. She’d only been babysitting Marley for a couple of hours so Carly and Dani could have some time to themselves, but that was more than enough, given the transformation rounded up.

Marley sighed and rolled her eyes. “Really?”

“Come on, lighten up a little!” Vivian chirped, playfully elbowing the other woman in the side. “Besides, aren’t ya happy you got to get out for a little while?”

Marley sighed. Vivian raised a valid point. Marley had been the one who sought escape from her sister without hesitation. But at the same time, now that everyone was going their separate ways, she wanted to head back.

After all, the alternative was spending the rest of the day with Vivian. And that wasn’t something she was all that interested in doing.

“Oh, hey,” Carly said, walking over to the two of them. “You guys back already? You know, you could have stayed out for a little longer.”

Vivian glanced at Carly’s costume. It was hard to see how the dark blazer and the long skirt clung to her from sweat, but the white blouse was almost transparent. She raised her eyebrow and flashed the other girl a knowing smirk.

“…You know, I could take her out for a little longer, if I’m interrupting something…” She insinuated with a sultry tone.

Carly looked confused for a moment, and then glanced down at her state of dress and burst out laughing. “Oh! This! …No, no, it’s not what you think!” She shook her head. “Dani and I, we were playing a dancing game! Only, these clothes are a lot heavier than I expected, so I worked up quite a sweat, that’s all.”

Marley sniffed the air. While she could smell the sweat clinging to her sister, she couldn’t find any other indicators of sex, so she chose to begrudgingly accept what the story.

“Well, far be it from me to judge you gals on how you enjoy yourselves,” Vivian said with a chuckle. “But if you wouldn’t mind, I’m ready to leave her off with you!” She gave Marley a pat on the back. “Your sister is great, don’t get me wrong, but I’m looking forward to spending tonight all by myself relaxing in my room, and having her around would cramp my style.

“Hey!” Marley snapped.

“I know, I totally get it,” Carly giggled.

That really set her sister off. “HEY!”

“Calm down, we’re just teasing you,” Vivian giggled, pulling the curvy brunette into a sideways hug. “I actually really enjoyed getting to hang out with you today!”

“You… you did?” Marley was taken aback. They’d hardly spoken the whole time they were together. As far as she could have guessed, Vivian had just seen her as a means to an end.

“Of course I did!” Vivian nodded. “You’re a pretty chill gal, Marley, even if you can be a little too serious at times.”

“That’s what I’m always saying!” Carly nodded in agreement. “Vivian’s right, Marley! You need to lighten up and enjoy yourself!”

Marley gave her sister a frosty look.

“Maybe you should take things more seriously sometimes, instead,” she replied. “I’m sure Dani would appreciate that too.”

Carly turned to see a sweaty Dani approach. The blue-haired girl glanced sheepishly at Marley before turning to her partner.

“I wouldn’t go that far,” she said, in a tone of voice that suggested Marley may not have been that off the mark. “Don’t get me wrong, Carly, your free spirit is what I love about you, but take today for instance, with Augmented Synthetic Humanoid Assassin, that was a little…”

Dani was glad Carly had been there to help, but it had gotten weird by the end.

Carly huffed. “Well… …Okay,” she admitted, getting Dani’s point. She’d been pretty handsy and free with the other girl, and they’d nearly had sex right in front of her sister! It wasn’t a surprise that Marley had been perturbed by that.

Still…

“…You didn’t complain when it was happening though,” Carly pointed out with a sly smile.

“Fair point indeed,” Vivian nodded in agreement, and the two playful gals shared a laugh at Dani’s expense.

It was all in good fun, though, and even Marley was smiling.

“Well, we’ve kept you here long enough,” Carly said, turning back to Vivian. “Time to see about getting you paid!”

She held out her hand to Vivian and the brit accepted it, giving her a shake to seal the deal.

“I’m surprised you have so little!” Carly gasped when she saw the numbers change. “Didn’t you have something like 4000 this morning?”

“Quality clothing has a way of setting you back,” Vivian answered with a laugh. She would know that better than anyone. “Especially when you’re buying stuff for the whole party, if you catch my meaning, eh?”

“You bought everybody swimsuits?” Dani said in shock. “That… whoa. That’s quite a big gesture, I didn’t see that coming.”

A more cynical person would have thought Vivian had been trying to buy friends with that, but Dani wasn’t sure if that was the case. It seemed a little too obvious even for a woman as blatant as the saucy heiress.

“You could have just done a fashion show, though,” Marley pointed out. “I still don’t get why you didn’t. Everything would have been free!”

Vivian scoffed and waved her hand. “Yeah, but it’s only BP,” she said, like that answered anything.

The three women just stared at her in confusion.

“…Yeah, BP you wouldn’t have had to pay,” Dani repeated her confusion.

“I gotta say, it is a little weird,” Carly admitted. She didn’t spend her BP on clothes at all, given her transformation. But even she could see the benefit of getting free stuff for the simple price of putting on a fashion show.

Hell… that was practically her job!

Vivian waved off their confusion with another laugh. “Sure, sure, we could have gotten all the clothes for free, instead of me having to pay. But what about Kim then?”

“What about her?” Dani scowled. She still nursed a bit of a grudge over Kim ditching her with Augmented Synthetic Humanoid Assassin, but she wasn’t that upset. She’d be over it by the morning.

“Well, she was working hard all day,” Vivian said, shrugging. “And what, her first customers show up, and get some clothes without paying? What’s that say about her? All that work, and nothing to show for it? Just doesn’t sound fair to me.”

She winked at the stunned girls. “Besides, this way, we can throw the fashion show for the audience’s eyes with Nick right there! That’s a much better return on investment if you ask me.”

The heiress could already imagine Nick’s response to seeing her swimwear for the first time. Even if the other women took away from it, she still expected to wow him.

But it was unlikely he’d be as blown away as the girls in front of her.

“I-I’m shocked,” Dani said, feeling guilty that the idea of Vivian trying to buy friends had even crossed her mind. “I’m sorry, Vivian, I honestly never thought you’d be the kind of woman to do something nice for Kim like that.”

“Especially given Kim’s attitude towards you,” Marley agreed. As much as she liked Kim, it would be hard for her to feel that way if she was treated as contemptuously as the other girl treated Vivian.

“Kim’s got a grudge, believe me, I get it,” Vivian said, shrugging. “But we’re in this for the long haul, right? Somehow or another we’re gonna have to learn to get along, so if I can help her get to know me a little better and see I’m not all that bad, that’s definitely for the best, wouldn’t you say?”

No one could really argue with her. Vivian made quite a compelling case.

“…Now then!” She cleared her throat. “I really must be going! I’ve got a whole evening to myself, and I’d like to maybe hit that spa sometime tonight before bed! Ciao, my lovelies!”

She turned sharply on her heel and hummed to herself as she walked out of the room, leaving three amazed women in her wake.
