Wishes to get invited over

Dennis didn't want the fun to stop. This was the greatest day of his life and it wasn't even midnight yet!

I wish Lauren would invite me up he thought, just as they pulled up to Lauren's house.

"Want to stay?" Lauren asked.

Her eyes shot wide as she blurted that out without thinking. What was wrong with her?! She kept just saying things she wasn't thinking, always forward things to Dennis of all people! Sure, he apparently wasn't the total loser she remembered him as, but she didn't want to invite him over after her humiliating night!

"Sure." Dennis said casually, knowing the request was coming.

"For a minute." Lauren said hurriedly. "Not to... I mean, don't expect anything..."

Lauren blushed furiously, totally flustered.

"Lead the way." Dennis said as the pair emerged from the car...
