Wise

After completing their mission in Failume Heights, the Phaethon siblings had returned to Random Play. While Belle had decided to skip all the hard stuff and head straight to bed, Wise had been given the mission of "unpack and put everything back where it belongs".

He entered the back room of Random Play with a cardboard box, and began unpacking.

"Proxy!" A voice shouted. "We heard you're back!"

Wise turned around to see Nicole standing there.

"Oh, Nicole," Wise said. "We just got back, we're unpacking right now-"

"Alright, I'll leave you alone, but first I've got one thing," Nicole said, showing him a USB drive. "We picked this up from the Hollow on a recent commission. However, our client managed to get arrested by Public Security before we could deliver it to him, and he never really told us what this was. We don't have much of a use for it now, so I just wanted to ask you if you could analyze this and get back to us, just to see if it's worth anything."

"Got it, won't be much of a problem. We should be done with it in the morning," He said, grabbing the USB drive. Nicole nodded and left for the night as Wise continued unpacking.

"Greetings, Master," their AI assistant Fairy said. "Analyzing contents of USB drive... It appears to be a program labelled Reality Timer. Would you like me to extract and install?"

"No, no, wait," Wise said. "We don't know what this is. It's better to be cautious and analyze exactly what it is first, it could be a virus-"

"Understood. Extracting and installing."

"What? Fairy!"

The progress bar maxed out extremely fast.

"The Reality Timer has been installed."

"...Fairy, why did you extract it! I told you not to!"

"Sorry, Master. I don't know what came over me. I feel like my AI has been hijacked in order to deliver this program to you."

Wise sighed at Fairy's sarcasm. "Well... might as well analyze it now that it's on the HDD..."

He opened the program.

"...Reality Timer?" Wise read. "Type in a prompt to change reality... Timer will run out..."

...This was bullshit. Nicole and the Cunning Hares went and risked their lives in the Hollow for some dumb prank.

He sighed.
