She moves in, charging one heavy strike to finish it, the orb in her right hand condensing with power until it looks like the trees bend towards her. The monster puts its claws up to block the attack it has no chance of surviving. I think I see its eyes start to shift, but it doesn't have the time. Something Alice has been doing has been cutting the lengths of its time jump short, and it seems like it needs time to recharge. Time it doesn't have.

A bright flash and the creature, as well as its prey, are blown into the forest. I don't see exactly what happens to it, but based on the lack of energy, and the steady, quiet passing of time, it's safe to say it isn't getting back up after that. Alice stands up, looking more confused than tired.

"Was that it? I thought you could handle something like that on your own. Not getting weak on us, are you?" Her tone is mocking. I'm not sure if it's flirting, or sincere disappointment.

"Hey, I already killed it like 5 or 6 times by the time you got here." I admit defensively. She's probably right...I could have done that myself, but I think it might have taken longer, and it was getting kind of annoying.

"Didn't look dead to me." Her smile is gone, replaced with her classic resting face of mild annoyance.

"I can explain on the way back.. Thanks, by the way."

"No problem."

When we get back, we're greeted by a slightly worried looking Amber. "I told you going out alone to piss was stupid! Next time just hold it!"

I am torn between making a joke of asking her to hold it for me, or making a masturbation joke about holding my dick, but by the time I decide the moment passes, and I just give a nod. Not my best showing, but I got some experience fighting against a monster with Time powers. I head back to my tent and lay down, eager to get just another hour or two of rest. The upside of fighting the time cat, is that even though i must have been fighting for almost an hour straight, I only spent the energy I used at the end. The other loops 'didn't count' I guess. I stop thinking about and drift halfway back to sleep...
