What's next?
What is going on in Gotham? Is there another Danger lurking in the Shadows?
Red Hood felt as if his senses were numbed in his human form. However, he didn't want to frighten possible citizens by being a werewolf here. Besides, it was quite difficult to use the equipment in his new shape. It was true that as a wolf he was faster and stronger but as a wolf he was also disadvantaged in certain respects. Thanks to Bruce's equipment he could get from one building to another in seconds without using any strength or endurance. The city had never seemed so empty to him. He couldn't see anybody on the streets. It was frightening to see his home like this. In addition the supernatural fire that surrounded the city. He had already fought many crazy guys but with Dracula he wondered if this fight could be won. The power difference seemed far too big. Even with his new body Jason couldn't resist the question if Bruce was the right one to fight this fight. He knew his old mentor all too well. Surely he would try to capture this vampire or otherwise put it out of action. But this guy had to die for what he had done to the city. He was even worse than the Joker in his worst times.
Even the weather seemed to be going crazy. Right now there was a storm like it shouldn't have existed. He just shot another grappling hook and shot from one roof to the next when he saw it. In the middle of the air and unable to do anything he could only watch the castle of Dracula appear. He was fortunately far enough away not to be torn to pieces, but still close enough to get the shock wave. While his body hit one of the roofs pretty hard, he was still shocked by what he had seen. After his head had stopped ringing, he got back on his feet to check what he had seen. He hardly noticed that he had broken his arm in the impact. Knowing that the werewolf in him would not have long to do with it, he concentrated fully on the huge monster that had now appeared in the heart of the city. If he had thought before that Dracula was a different caliber for Batman he had to ask himself if this Dracula could have natural enemies at all.
"Fucking Shit" he growled as a shadow lay over him. Without thinking he whirled around and threw 5 explosive grenades in the direction. Before he could even see his enemy the bombs exploded. Years of training had ensured that he always hit his targets. No matter if he saw them or not. Taking advantage of the momentum of his own turn, he jumped aside and pulled his submachine guns. Without hesitation he pointed the weapons at the cloud of smoke and opened fire. The armor-piercing explosive projectiles would make short work of this guy. When he had shot both magazines he simply dropped the guns and pulled his pistols in case something should have survived this attack.
"That... is... but... impossible" he stammered and didn't even find time to react when the opponent started his attack.
"He's over there," Ivy shouted as she swooped over the roofs. The wind tickled her nose and she closed her eyes for a moment as she jumped to enjoy the feeling of freedom. Unfortunately this feeling didn't last very long. Shortly after the castle of Dracula appeared Bruce had decided to leave the cave. Although everyone had advised him against it, it was impossible to change his mind. Shortly after they reached the city, Ivy noticed that something was wrong with Jason. She could sense his smell, but superimposed with blood and other secretions. And so the three had changed direction to see what was going on.
When they arrived on the roof they could hardly believe their eyes. Jason had been literally torn to pieces. He was lying in a pool of blood and guts. His arms and legs had been torn from his body, his jaw was also broken and his chest ripped open. Ivy immediately jumped to him and let several medicinal herbs grow around him.
Bruce asked, "How is he?" and looked at the scene of the crime. At the moment he avoided turning back into a human. He knew that only the healing power of the werewolf kept him on his feet. The strain on his body during the transformation would probably make him unable to fight.
"I don't know. He has to go back to the cave immediately. Only there I can maybe save him. But I have no idea if his limbs will grow back. It is quite possible that he will remain crippled."
"Bring him home immediately. Do what you can for him. I stay here!"
"Fuck you" Ivy yelled at him. "You can hardly stand and want to mess with Dracula? Have you seen what he did to Jason?"
"That wasn't Dracula." Said Bruce calmly. "And now disappear. I manage this."
"Mr. B! that's a stupid idea! How do you know those stupid vampire chicks weren't?"
"First of all. He's still alive. Dracula would hardly have let him live. Secondly. He was torn to pieces. Not cut or burned or shredded by magic. Look at the wounds. They are clear signs that brute force has been used. And the claw marks on the chest indicate a werewolf... a very big one."
"Bigger than you Mr. B?"
"Enough talk. Take him away. I have to investigate this! And I don't know how much time I have before I collapse... Harley, you go to the bell tower! There you will find Oracle. You will bring them to the cave. You will NOT bite her clear?"
"Yay! I can play with Bat-Girl" Harley cheered and grinned as she ran to reach the bell tower. Ivy took the half-dead remains of Jason on her shoulder and ran off as well. As soon as they were out of sight Bruce could allow himself to show weakness. It took a few minutes until he could stand up again. He investigated the crime scene as best he could in his present condition. His senses were a hundred times sharper than in his human form but his claws weren't exactly sensitive. On top of that the whole place was full of superimposed smells which made it impossible for him to pick up a trace.
The only thing he found were claw marks. However these were clearly larger than his. So far he had seen only one werewolf that was bigger than him. At least if you didn't count Karen. The other had been Killer Croc. Due to his changed DNA it was at least not completely inexplicable to him why he had grown so big.
When Harley arrived at the bell tower she couldn't believe her eyes. Over 30 werewolves were about to climb up the outer wall. While some guns from the upper area took the wolves under fire, the wolves climbed on almost unimpressed. The small caliber weapons showed hardly effect with the werewolves and braked them at best.
Harley stood on the wall of a roof and clapped his paws happily.
"UIIIIII So many great toys! What do you say to Mr. Flauschi" she asked in a good mood the big imaginary werewolf next to her who looked at her wagging her tail and barked cheerfully.
"That's exactly how I see it! Then let's play along!
