"Can I touch you?" Regina asked, and Lauren nodded. Regina timidly approached the golem and put forth her shaky hand. It came to rest on Lauren's forearm.

"You're so soft..." Regina mumbled. "How do you feel so human?"

"I'm designed to be indistinguishable from a person," Lauren answered matter-of-factly. "Would you like to touch my face?"

Regina was momentarily startled by the request. She silently lifted her hand to Lauren's face and pushed a thumb into her cheek. The golem didn't react; her smooth, taut skin yielded exactly as a human's would.

"Whoa," Regina said. "This doesn't bother you?"

"Nothing bothers her," Madison said impatiently. She leaned over the desk and placed the tip of her index finger on Lauren's left eye. Lauren didn't flinch, but smiled.

"Very good, Madison. This doesn't bother me in the slightest. Now, have I satisfied your curiosity?"

The girls withdrew their hands and Lauren brushed a stray hair out of her face. Madison noticed that Regina's cheeks were flushed.

"What if I told you to take off your top?" Regina said. Madison was surprised; her friend had never shown any sexual interest in women previously.

"What if I told you to take off yours?" Lauren countered. "I don't see how my breasts are going to help you understand the nature of golems."

Regina was undeterred. "But you would if the dean ordered you to?"

Lauren nodded. "I would take off my top. I am beholden to the dean of the Math department as well as a few other faculty and staff members. I'm here to serve the students, of course, but I obey Dr. Cortez."

"What if we gave you a modifier script?" Madison was impressed; Regina had done her homework.

Lauren shrugged. "It wouldn't work. I can only be modified by the same group of people I'm bound to obey. I'm locked down to them."

Regina and Madison were startled by a knock on the door. Lauren smiled apologetically and rose, adjusting her skirt slightly.

"Now I'm sorry girls, but I have other students to help. I hope you found our session today helpful."
