What counts as manipulation?

"Reasonable question," Samuel said. "Me using the book to **** you to take an action you would otherwise not take."

"So you could just like **** me to tie my shoes and wham the week resets?" I asked. God this was a nightmare, what kind of twisted shit was this guy into.

"No, or not really. I'm not that petty. If you can prevent me from manipulating you in notable ways. I will consider that enough," he said warmly. "A win I stole holds no value after all."

What kind of sick game is this. He wants me to literally give into his manipulation. Well he has a stupid win condition because I am never going to give in. Never ever!

"So what kind of deal do I have to make to remove whatever it is you **** me to do so far?" I asked.

"If you mean the kiss thing. How about I make it easy since it's so early in our game. If you agree to not drop out of college or transfer from this location. I will deem that enough."

I tried thinking, was this some key to his success? Forcing me nearby? Not that I originally planned to leave. Technically, it isn't even something he is saying he would ****. Just that he would punish me if I broke this promise. Wait, does that mean he can influence me from far away. Or he can't and he's trying to keep me here.

Samuel laughed a bit. "If you want to think it over, that is fine. But if we are done for today, I think I will be leaving."

"No wait! I'll take the deal," I said.

He sat down and pulled open a drawer revealing the book from before. He took it out ripped a page off and handed it to me. One sentence was written on it. He then carefully returned the book to the desk before locking it.
