What could go wrong at a Rock Concert

John was a regular guy, the kind you'd pass on the street without giving a second glance. He worked at the local hardware store, had a reliable old car, and liked his weekends simple—a few beers, a ball game, maybe a BBQ. But today, he felt like a celebrity. His girlfriend, Amy, had surprised him with VIP tickets to see their favorite band. They'd been together for almost two years, and this was the kind of gesture that made John feel like the luckiest man in the world.

As they pulled up to the venue, the neon lights flickered against the dark sky, illuminating the swarm of people dressed in band merch and glitter. John felt a mix of anticipation and nerves—this was going to be a night to remember. They found their seats, right at the front of the VIP section, and watched the stagehands set up the equipment. The air was electric with the promise of a great show.

Amy looked absolutely radiant, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She leaned into John, whispering sweet nothings about how much she loved him and their shared love for the band. He felt a warmth spread through his chest, thinking about the countless nights they'd spent listening to their albums together, discussing lyrics and concert fantasies. He remembers making love to her with the melody of their favorite song playing in the background. It was all so perfect.

The lights dimmed, and the opening act took the stage. They weren't bad, but John and Amy couldn't help but exchange glances, eager for the main event. As the opening band wrapped up their set, the anticipation grew palpable. The crowd's murmur grew to a roar as the headliners appeared. The music started, and John felt his heart race with every beat. He turned to Amy, her eyes wide and her mouth in an 'O' of pure joy. He leaned in for a kiss, but she was already on her feet, squealing with excitement.

Out walked the lead singer, a skinny guy with so much charisma that John felt like he was in the presence of rock royalty. The singer's jeans were ripped in all the right places, his shirt unbuttoned to reveal a chest covered in tattoos, and his hair was styled into a perfect mess. He strutted across the stage, the spotlights casting a golden halo around him. His voice washed over the crowd, and John couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy—this was the kind of guy who could make any girl swoon, and tonight, he had Amy's full attention.

John's eyes remained glued to Amy as she sang along to every word, her hands in the air, lost in the music. He felt a sudden jab of inadequacy. Here he was, in his plain t-shirt and jeans, while she was worshiping this rock god. The singer's gaze swept over the audience, and for a brief moment, it landed on Amy. She beamed back, and John felt his heart drop to his stomach. He knew that look—it was the same one she gave him when they first met.

The setlist rolled on, and John tried to get into the music, but the feeling of unease grew stronger. He took a sip of his beer, hoping it would calm his nerves. But when the band played their latest hit, the one that had been on repeat in their apartment, something strange happened. The singer locked eyes with Amy again, and this time, he didn't look away. He sang directly to her, reaching out a hand that she eagerly grabbed. He pulled her up onto the stage, and John's heart stopped.
