Chapter 14 by Sloth013
Are thing's any different?
Well thats different
"The hell?!" You ask once the doors are open. Where once was the slippery cliffside hidden behind a roaring waterfall was now solid stone. A wall of solid stone.
"What wrong?" The Gnoll inquires as he joins you at the door.
"We're trapped inside the earth!" You exclaim.
"Raining water gone! Where are we?" He asks.
"I-I can't tell." You realize. Your blind navigation feat either is not working right, or its been suppressed. Suffice to say, your kinda fucked.
"Okay. Lets calm down." You start. "We have limited air before we start getting poisoned, so we must take deep breaths." You explain to the Gnoll. He nods in understanding before you continue. "I think, I'm not sure, but usually we are informed about updates via the log. Hopefully, Reaquitor was a big enough update that it will register on the log and allow us more information." You think aloud.
You open your stats menu and go to the update log screen hoping for the best.

"I see. Gnoll, I believe I know what has happened. We have been transported away from our initial home and possibly are supposed to connect ourselves to the Hollow Path." You explain.
"Hollow... Path?" He inquires.
"It is a system of caverns and tunnels that span the entirety of Arkus. I myself am from a Hollow Path City, but that was many years ago now." You say, trying to remember what it was like. Your memories were still foggy, and the lack of fresh air is getting to you. "Shadow, go find the Badger and Pebble golem. We need all the help we can get..." You instruct.
Once your motley crew is gathered you start doling out instructions. "Alright everyone we have limited time and limited resources. We need to excavate ourselves as fast and efficently as possible. Pebble golem, Badger, and I will be excavting. Shadow, Gnoll, i want you two alert at all times. There's no telling what could have snuck in to my lair in the night. We also don't know if we will find any caverns or tunnels. If we do, we may run into trouble." You explain. With a collective nod your crew gets to work digging through the stone. Luckily you had your new pickaxe, allowing the process to be fast tracked.
It took nearly an hour of digging before you had arrived at a new cavern. It was fairly large, being a long jagged path maybe 10 feet wide with a large drop into the unknown next to it. There were three tunnels connected to the path, each going different directions. "What now?" The Gnoll asked once they deemed the area secure.
You look around, trying to find any sort of substantial marker down here. As you stepped into the tunnel you suddenly were no longer inside your lair, and it seemed your minions realized it too as the Shadow and Pebble Golem were pushed to the edge of your tunnel.
The stone around the tunnel glowed for a moment before the stone doors and archway from your lair's original entrance appeared. "It seems we have much more work to do then. But that can wait. Gnoll, Badger, we continue on from here." You say before a tingle appeared in thr back of your mind. It was your feat, and it was giving you a vague sense of direction towards one of the tunnels.
"This way." You exclaim.
The three of you walk for a while, cautious of any beasts lurking inside the dark depths. Suddenly, a great stench puncture's your nostrils causing you to gag. "Troglodytes!" You yell before five lizard like humanoids emerge from the rock around you.
You pull out your spear and stab one right in the gut, causing it to let out a high pitch hiss. The one next to it slithers up to you before delivering a powerful bite to your shoulder. "Gah!"
The Gnoll sinks it's axe into it's neck, killing it while parrying the claws of another. Behind you, the badger is holding it's own against the remaining troglodytes, jumping, clawing, and biting every opportunity it gets. You spin your spear, slamming the blade into the head of the first troglodyte you hit, killing it before you turn your attention towards one of the ones after the badger. The Gnoll, now with a free axe, throws it from his hand, severing the lizard like monster's tail. It let's out a wail, loosing its focus, allowing the Gnoll to finish the job. He pushes the troglodyte's claws away before slicing down along its body leaving a massive bloody wound.
Meanwhile, the badger, now only dealing with one asshole managed to sink it's teeth into the jugular of the lizard, ripping it out before spitting it out, not liking the taste. You on the other hand dealt with the last one by setting it on fire after entangling it.

"I guess using my spear came in handy after all." You mutter before looting the bodies. They didn't have much, having only gotten here since the update, but a bit of raw mystery meat never hurt anyone.
"Eat?" The Gnoll asks as he sniffs one of the carcasses.
"I mean, if you want. I wouldn't recommend it, you probably would get some disease of some kind." You say in disgust. The Gnoll shrugs before taking a tentative bite out of the shoulder before spitting it back out.
"Tastes bad." It said.
"I told you. Now come on, i think we're close to the exit." You say before continuing. You soon came upon another branch. When you looked to the left, the tingle died down. Towards the right it became more prevelant. "So that's how that work's." You say to yourself. "This way."
For about three hours you marko pollowed your way through the Hollow path, twisting in awkward positions and hanging on for dear life at a few places. Eventually, the tunnels ended, and you appeared on the surface.
You were at the waterfall, only instead of being behind it, you were off to the side, where several dozen similar caves dotted the mountain. The falls had changed as well, being nearly 300 feet tall, and 500 feet wide. Jagged pillars of stone pierced the rushing water, and the lake had been expanded to be several miles in a jagged uneven form. Several paths snaked up the side, leading to caves and up the mountain.
It was late evening, the sun nearly below the horizon. A few lights could be seen on the opposite end of the lake, hero's most likely. "Hopefully the nymph can give us a run down." You say before hiking down from your cavern. Everything was calm when you got to the shore, until, "Yazas!?"
You found yourself on the ground, a person glomping you for dear life. "Nymph?" You ask upon looking down.
"Yes?" Came the voices of five women.
"Oh dear."
Anyone else seemingly confused?
