Chapter 15 by DegenLurker DegenLurker

To pursue Toko, or to go to Lunch and wait for her?

We need that notebook now!

As much as Kiyotaka wanted to trust Toko to hold onto the notebook, and as much as he believed that she genuinely was one of his friends, he hadn't really liked the idea of her taking the notebook and running off, even if it just was to get dressed and come back. Yes, they were sharing the Sex Note, and he appreciated her help, but there was a fine line between discussing whose turn with the magical fuck-book it would be at the moment, and swiping it and running.

Lunch, though his stomach was growling, could wait a moment. The priority for now was getting the notebook back. So, Kiyotaka marched down the hallway towards the dorms, his stride turning into a quick jog as the lunch bell rang, and every classroom door opened, the sounds of Ultimates chatting flooding his ears as the crowds surged out.

"Kiyotaka?" A familiar voice asked, as his gaze turned to note a slim, athletic classmate with short black hair fashioned into a stylish bob, freckles around her nose, and a wolf's head tattoo on the top of her right hand clutching a lunchbox. Her left hand waved to him robotically. "I didn't see you in second period." She greeted, expression about as neutral as ever. "Sayaka was late as well, so you shouldn't feel too bad about it. I'm going to take my sister lunch- are you also headed that way?"

Right. Junko'd been sick today, and Mukuro was the type who'd do anything for her younger sister. Normally, Kiyotaka would have offered to do a wellness check, if he'd thought of that. Instead, his thoughts had been focused on the notebook, but he could probably do both. He had time. Granted, today was the first day he'd be labeled a truant, so there was already no hope for him in that department. His perfect attendance record was permanently ruined.

"Kiyotaka." Mukuro interjected, staring directly into his eyes as he stammered. "Ah, right. I was going to do a wellness check for both Junko and Toko. I saw her running towards the dorms in a panic earlier, and I figured it'd be good to check up on both of them." That seemed to get her to relax, as he began to continue walking in that direction.

"It's nice of you to do these wellness checks." She replied, expression still dour. "I was a little worried when you didn't do your usual wake-up call, but you seem mostly fine, if a little on edge. I hope you're not...having doubts about yourself?" Her voice petered off.

"I was feeling a little under the weather this morning." Kiyotaka replied, doing his best to smile. In truth, he was worried about a lot. Yes, Sayaka was genuinely into him, but he'd used the notebook to put her on the spot as a test. If she did turn out pregnant, or people found out that she was potentially having a secret relationship- potentially, given she wanted to talk later about everything, her career and status as the Ultimate Idol would be gone. Then, he'd agreed to team up with Toko to use the Sex Note for- well, on paper it was going to help people around them.

On paper. His head was still reeling, and he was still a little tired from the sex he'd had earlier.

"Ah." Mukuro replied, her own expression betraying nothing. "Well, I hope you continue to do the morning-wake up calls. Some of the others might not act like they appreciate them, but they're helpful. I personally enjoy them." This got a raised eyebrow from Kiyotaka. "You do?" He asked, slightly confused. "Well, yes. It reminds me of when I was on the field." The Ultimate Soldier replied, to which she got an "Ah, I see!" from her traveling partner followed by awkward silence.

A few moments passed before Kiyotaka finally spoke up again. "I'm glad you're deciding to help Junko so much. You're a great sister to her."

"You really think so?!" Mukuro asked just a little too loudly, before she coughed as Kiyotaka jolted in surprise. "Ahem. I meant, you think so? I'm glad." She repeated, calmer- though she held a small grin now.

Just how far away are the dorms again?

====================================================

By the time the two arrived at the dorms, Mukuro had gone from stoically making small-talk to probing as best she could, and Kiyotaka had done his best to oblige. His hobbies? Well, he'd never played video games before. His childhood? Cooped up, hard at work. His family? Dad was a cop, grandfather was a prime-minister who'd resigned in disgrace. They'd all gone from riches to rags, and his family had become disgraced as a result.

"My sister and I know what that's like. Being at the bottom, I mean." Mukuro murmured, as the two approached the dining hall area of the dormitories. "But we've all bounced back, right?"

"I dunno. I hope so." Kiyotaka muttered, as the doors swung open, revealing a sight he hadn't expected. Junko Enoshima was here, just as her sister had said she would be, but she was in little more than a tight pair of pajamas- a black and white shirt with a low neckline, and a pair of black and white short-shorts that left little to nothing to the imagination.

"Oh, hey!" Junko greeted, her expression going from annoyed to attentive as her eyes caught onto where Kiyotaka was staring. "You're not here to drag me to class when I've got a fever like this, are you?"

"No, just doing a wellness check." Kiyotaka muttered, as Mukuro quickly shuffled over with the lunch box. "How are you feeling, Junko?" She asked, as Junko opened the lunch box, and grumbled "Like shit. No thanks to this food."

"I didn't want to upset your stomach any." Mukuro murmured, as her own eyes flicked towards Kiyotaka's gaze. Specifically, where he'd been gazing. As his eyes moved to avoid Junko's low neckline, he felt both sisters gazing directly at him, much to his growing horror.

"Uhuh." Junko muttered. "Well, Mikan's supposed to be coming by to give me a check-up after classes. You know the Ultimate Nurse, right, Kiyotaka? I'll bet she can examine you too, if you're feeling out of it."

"I don't think that will be needed-"

"I'm fairly certain he has business of his own to get to." Mukuro muttered. "Although, seeing as he took the time to accompany me, I could accompany him in looking for Toko."

"Toko?" Junko perked up, shaking her head. "I saw her running into the bathhouse earlier. She's probably washing off all that stank she's got from the whole "Writing in a corner for hours on end!" thing. You're not getting to talk to her unless you wanna do a mixed bath, Mr I Am The Law. Unless you wanna break the rules, you're probably stuck waiting until Toko finishes in there."

That made sense, actually. Her clothes had been stained by a mix of cum and her own juices. It'd be good for her to clean herself off, then get changed.

"So, that means you'll have to eat lunch with me and the sour-puss here!" Junko finished, gesturing to herself and Mukuro. "Or, if you're ballsy enough, we can all go for a mixed bath and chat with her."

"That- funny, Junko. Very funny." Her sister chided, as Kiyotaka blinked. He hadn't even used the Sex Note for this conversation. Junko had just looked him dead in the eyes, and come up with that topic.

"I mean, I need to take a bath eventually. If he's crazy enough to go for it, I'll follow- but he can't go around calling himself the Ultimate Moral Compass then, can he? So we'll just have lunch." Junko chuckled, giving Kiyotaka a look. "What's it going to be, Kiyo?"

Are you playing it safe, or making a ballsy move?
