When Erica woke up again, she could hear the play-by-play of a football game. Sitting on the opposite end of the couch from where she fell asleep was Alicia's twin brother, Cam. Cam's friend Tom was spinning in La-Z-Boy nearby. Erica rubbed her eyes. "What time is it?" Cam shrugged his shoulders, his attention on the game. Erica stifled a yawn, and sat up. "Is Alicia awake yet?"

When Cam didn't reply, Tom volunteered an answer for her. "We haven't seen her. She told us we could come over today to watch the game." He stopped spinning in the La-Z-Boy and leaned in towards Erica. "Do you like football?"

The first time that Erica had seen Tom, she had been attracted to him. This went back to when they were first introduced due to their respective friendships with Alicia and Cam. Erica wanted to get to know Tom better. If he was a fan of football, then maybe she could use that to bond with him. "I love football," she lied.

Cam laughed. "Yeah right."

"As a matter of fact I do love football," Erica retorted. She then proceeded to double down. "I used to watch with my dad when I was a kid." Tom had better appreciate the effort she was making. Erica didn't have many memories with her father. Her parent's had separated when she was young. "Who's playing?"

"White and blue is Duke. Red and white is North Carolina." Tom smiled at her as he leaned in conspiratorially. "Who do you think will win?"

Erica scoffed and tried to dig herself out of the hole she was digging. "Definitely North Carolina."

Tom grinned and nodded his approval. "I guess you do know a thing or two about football. The Athletics are undefeated this season."

Erica stuck her tongue out at Cam. "See! I do know something about football!"

Cam waved her off. "Lucky guess. Even with their record, I'm confident that the Blue Devils are going to win this game."
