Walk with Amy

At 9:30 statistics finally ended and you began packing up your stuff. While you wanted to check on Carolyn and find out if she’s ok, you also knew that Amy would do good to have someone with her. Especially since Amanda was already out of the classroom. Following Amy to a water fountain you continued talking with the girl, learning more about her. Apparently she was from a very conservative family and was a bit of a nerd. She didn’t have any favorite movies, shows, or games, but she had plenty of favorite books. How to kill a mocking bird, where the wind blows, and big brother were just a few of her favorite classics. She also loved math and science more than anything and was only taking a “simple statistics course”, as she put it, due to it being a requirement.

“I was wondering,” you began, feeling self conscious about what you were going ask. “Could you maybe help me out with that class, I’m not the best at math but with your help I think I could do pretty good.”

After standing up from the water fountain Amy beamed at you, nearly jumping in place. “Of course I could, I’d love to help you with math… but you mean help right, not do it for you?”

“Oh yea no I mean help, I’d like to understand it not just get a good grade.”

“Then I’d be delighted!” Excitedly Amy began walking up the stairs to the second floor where you both had your next classes. Following her you started to check your bag, not remembering quite where you put your phone, when a sudden and abrupt squeal made you look up. There was Amanda, dragging Amy off the staircase and into some side hallway. Running after them you found them in an almost hidden area off the side of the main staircase with Amanda’s knee on top of Amy holding her down. You could see fear all over Amy’s face as she looked up at Amanda. Trying to decide what to do, you didn’t know if you should run to get a teacher, try to help Amy, or since neither of them noticed you yet watch and see what happens.
