Visit Robert

You visit him at his chamber. He was doing his daily prayer, as it was standard practice for his holy order. Once he finishes you engage in some small talks but you don't get to know him much better than you already knew about him... After some time you try to ask around more directly.

Lily: And Robert tell me... How did you end up in the Templar Order?

Robert: Well, I was a child when my parents were attacked by bandits. We were travelling to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, my father was a blacksmith and my mother was too occupied to raise me and my 3 sisters and 5 brothers to have any jobs...

Lily: Oh my Robert, you have a lot of siblings!

Robert: I used to... When we were attacked, they were all killed or taken away... My fate would have been the same had I not made a run for it at the beginning of their attack... I hid in some bushes and the bandits looking for me couldn't find me. I was hiding in the forest, hungry and lost, overtaken by sorrow, when I heard a group of people passing through the same road as we were. It was a group of a few dozen people, escorted by well armoured men, baring red crosses on their shields. They too were pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land, but they had the luck of having an escort... I went to meet them and to warn them of the bandits ahead. The leader of the group thanked me, told me to get on the cart and they will go ahead and scout the way. They found and ambushed the bandits and put them all to the sword. When they returned they told me there were no sight of my siblings in their camp... I was an orphan and without any family members to turn to... The Templar knight offered to shelter me for the duration of the pilgrimage. I accepted, on the way I heard them talk a lot about their life and I grew fond of it so I asked them to let me join. They did, and now, here I am! A knight of the Templar order!

Lily: I am sorry for what happened to your family... And I am happy for you to have found this path!

Robert: Someday I still think they might be alive somewhere... Maybe they got away too... Or were sold as slaves, but still alive...

Lily: Anything is possible Robert! Don't give up hope!

Robert: I won't!

Lily: And if I got your story correctly, you joined the order as a child, right? But the Templars are expected to take an oath of celibacy isn't that correct?

Robert: Yes, yes it is correct.

Lily: So you have never had a girlfriend, have you?

Robert (laughing): No, I have never had the time for such luxuries! Besides, I am not even allowed to have one!

Lily: And have you never felt like trying to have one? Aren't you curious?

Robert: There are times in the lives of us all when we strive for things we are not allowed to have... But I have strengthened myself and let go of such desires!

Lily: But have you at least seen a woman naked?

Robert: Oh, no, I have not in my lifetime...

Lily: You mean, besides me, right?

Robert: Wha...?! No, I haven't seen you either without clothes, my lady! What makes you think that?!

Lily: I mean, I was naked the whole time before you helped us get rid of Sofia... I was naked when we were talking afterwards too!

Robert: Yes, about that... I have been into such situations before, I have learnt to look directly only in the eye of the ones I talk to, so... No, I have not seen what lies under your clothes Lady Lily, your privacy is still unknown to me!

Lily: Hmm, I see... Well thank you for your time Robert, we might spend more time together in the future to get to know each other better!

Robert: Yes, sure, whatever you wish, Lady Lily, I am at your service!

Lily (thinking): Hmm, so he says he has never seen a woman naked... and not even me when he had the chance... I might test the resolve of this noble knight to pass the time!
