Vampire spell

The vampire spell is a basic combat curse. It shares its name with the bloodthirsty creatures called vampires, but this is honestly the only similarity. While vampires are ill creatures who need blood to survive and spread their vampirism by biting others, the vampire spell drains not the blood but the lifeforce from its victim. And it does not spread any illnesses.

The longer the spell goes, the more tired gets the victim and the stronger gets the dark mage. After a minute, the victim feels tired and exhausted. After two minutes it gets ****. And if the dark mage still continues, the victim can even die. But the spell is limited at reach and needs permanent focus on the other person to work. Otherwise the spell breaks and the victim can recover by sleeping or eating something.

You know, that you can impossible stand up to the chimera for two minutes. It is just too fast and strong. But maybe you can avoid its attacks until it is tired enough and has to retreat Then you could heal Tocar and continue the fight together. It is risky, but you think it is your best option.

You focus on the chimera and try to get calm. You let your magic flow and use it to create a pitch black circle in your right hand. You imagine some runes to form the spell. Every rune appears in the circle and when the last rune is done, the circle disappears. You quickly reach out and a constant stream of tiny, bloodred particles flow from the chimera to your hand. The life **** of your opponent. Immediately you can feel the stolen energy improving your strength and endurance.

The chimera reacts surprised, but is not stupid enough to let you continue this that easy. It immediately runs towards you to attack you. You get ready to avoid the attack, but while doing so, you notice that the chimera is far faster than you thought. Despite the fight with Tocar, it still has a lot of energy left. This is going to be difficult.

To keep the spell active, you have to constantly focus on the chimera. And this is your biggest weakness at the moment. You permanently risk stumbling over some root or stone. This slows you down. And when you try to avoid the second attack, you are unable to watch out for tricks by your enemy. While you are able to dodge the scorpion tail, you are too slow for the chimeras head that shoots forward a second later.

Its long, sharp teeth dig into your arm and while you scream in pain, the chimera lifts you up by its mouth and cruses you onto the ground. Then let’s go of your arm, just to attack your upper body with its bloody teeth. And then your head. Well, at least the chimera ended your life without playing too much.
