VERY Good

Jake wakes up slowly.

The first thing he's aware of is the smell. That sweet, feminine smell is confusing but comforting, and it takes a moment for his groggy, sleep-fuzzed brain to remember where he is. When he figures it out, though, he unashamedly breathes it in deep, filling his lungs with Janie.

Next, he realizes he's not on his back anymore. At some point in the night, he must've turned over onto his side, and he's wrapped his arm tight around something soft and warm. He assumes it's a pillow and squeezes it tighter to his chest, but the motion makes him notice the odd texture pressed against his face. It's soft, and it smells amazing, but it's not until he opens his eyes that he realizes.

It's hair.

That's not a pillow he's holding.

He fights a wave of panic as he realizes that he's spooning Janie, both of them on their sides, her back nestled perfectly into the curve of his chest. Their bare legs are tangled up under the blankets, and he can feel her smooth thighs wrapped around his.

She's still asleep, her chest rising and falling gently under his embrace, so he decides to make the most of the opportunity. Slowly, gently, he works one arm down under the blanket, searching for the hem of her t-shirt. It's not hard to find; it's ridden up nearly to her belly button overnight--which means that the ass pressed against his tightening boxers is completely naked, but Jake tries not to dwell on that. He works his hand up under her shirt, trailing it along the smooth skin of her stomach but stopping just shy of her rib cage. He doesn't want to push things too far, so he just wraps his arm around her like it was before, just with his skin against hers now.

He also keeps sniffing her hair, nuzzling into the long, dark locks, until her finds her neck. Jake hesitates for a moment, licking his lips, then darts forward to kiss that soft patch of skin. She's a little salty from sweat--the added warmth of another person in her bed--so he can't resist a quick lick as well.

Soon, maybe because of all this motion, Janie's breath speeds up and she starts to move slightly in Jake's arms. She's waking up.
