In the span of just a few seconds, Ethan’s mind expands.

Why did he think Bobby had a brother? Just a few short days ago, that thought passed his mind. But the Evers family only had two children: Bobby and Alex. The pictures downstairs were proof of that.

And Alex was, as far as anybody was concerned, a girl.

But an ancient memory, one that lived deep under the surface of Ethan’s consciousness, recalls something from the day Mrs. Evers made Bobby take Alex to play tag with them. The very same day they sat in jail and first spoke.

Bobby’s words burn to life. “This is my brother, Alex.”

Brother.

Ethan thought he was a boy, because he was told he was a boy. Because as far as people knew then, he was. That memory was buried, but never destroyed.

But something had changed.

Brother became sister.

And everybody knew.

Ethan knew their relationship was a comedy of misunderstandings. A series of poorly interpreted conversations, interactions, and feelings. But the biggest misunderstanding was the truth about Alex, and the mistake was all his. It wasn't a secret. It was never supposed to be a secret. It was just an unspoken truth.

Alex wasn’t an ordinary girl, and everybody knew but Ethan.

Another second passes, Ethan’s mind racing.

Alex never meant to deceive him. This was not her fault. She fully believed Ethan knew about her, and was accepting of her. Embracing the fanciful, perhaps it was Ethan treating her like a girl all those years ago, before she came into her own that she fell for him. Truth is, he helped make her the woman she was, all without realizing it.

Ethan faces a choice.

Alex is naked before him, her body a deadly mix between the feminine and masculine. Devastatingly beautiful, slender, with hips to die for, but also with a tight, flat chest and a rock-hard prick.

Her heart is the same. She likes him, maybe even loves him. And she never meant to trick him.

Ethan can either accept her, or reject her.

Acceptance means fully embracing her.

Rejection means breaking her heart.

Another second passes.

Time to choose.
