Uhh...

Richard felt his tongue tie as his neighbor tried to peer into his life with nothing more than simple little questions. Her confidence did something to Richard, it set his mind into a panic. He became unsure abut how much he was willing to reveal, as well as confused about how much he was revealing with his speaking.

"Uhh... " was the only sound that managed to escape Richard's lips. The multitude of thoughts that rushed through his head managed to overpower his ability to speak when faced with his suddenly so confident neighbor.

"Wow, cat got your tongue?" The tea-drinking woman asked, the resulting silence was punctuated by a quick laugh from her direction before she tried to resuscitate the conversation, something which came effortlessly for her, "well, I for one would maybe take some time to... Make my home just a little bit cuter and prettier. Don't you just adore cute things?"

"I do, cute things are lovely, we can agree on that," Richard answered, his voice grew less shaky with each word he said, as if the mere act of speaking made his mind regain some of its poise. Poise, which turned into confidence, which was only waiting to turn into mistakes. For the time being however, Richard managed to keep his voice afloat, "I've been spending my time with making a lot of things cute as of late."

"Really, how come?" Was the instant question which left the confident woman's lips in response to Richard's statement.

"Well, I'm spending time with you, that's one way in which I'm managing to cuteify my life," became Richard's instant answer, it was almost a slip up, which then became a complete slip-up.

"Well, how about I come to your apartment for a bit and then your home will be a little bit cuter?" The neighbor pounced on the man she had been crushing on for so long. Richard, for his part, found no real reason to refuse and the two soon moved to Richard's apartment, where he showed the woman around.

It was a nice little walk around the small apartment, filled with many smiles and an orchestra's worth of flirtatious undertones. Once the woman left however, Richard found that his transformative object had gone. It wasn't until the next day when he realized that he hadn't just managed to displace it.
