Two weeks later… After Practice

“What the hell were you thinking!”

Madison knew it was best not to answer. This was her third year on the team and she knew when coach started going off it was best to just take every question as rhetorical and to let her yell it out. And yell it out she did. She’d been standing in coach’s office for 20 minutes now. Thankfully she was showing signs of tiring.

“The student conduct board is going to give you a punishment of some kind.” She grumbled sitting down in the chair she had left in a huff during one of her many angry tangents during the scolding. “It’ll probably be community service hours. Whatever that number is consider it doubled. And you’re benched for the next match. Dismissed.”

And with that Madison, along with Jenna the team Captain who had been required to stand there as a witness, left the office.

“All in all that wasn’t to bad.” Madison said to her brunette teammate.

“No. Not at all. Plus you ride the bench anyways so it’s not like that’s much of a punishment.”

“Ouch. But… true. Here’s hoping I don’t have to do to many service hours.”

“Hey you’re not out of the woods yet… you’ve still gotta answer to your teammates.”

“Seriously? You don’t mean…”

“Yup. Kangaroo Court.”
