What Does Blaze Draw?

Two of Spades

Human and demon stared hard.

"Huh." Lois said, if only to say something. "We never did say what we would do if it was a tie."

"Honestly, I didn't consider the possibility," the demon frowned. "Assuming we don't want to draw again...feel like a deal?"

Lois raised an eyebrow.

"Straight trade. Your...device...will be removed. You get a soul."

The reporter considered. "One condition."

It was Blaze's turn to raise an eyebrow.

"We put off the fuck until after the next hand. You can't cash your chip in until then."

"Putting off the inevitable?" Blaze gave a tight-lipped smile. "Well, considering I can't impregnate you with the device in...very well. I agree."

The demon made a grasping motion. Lois didn't feel anything, but when she next looked into the succubus' hand, she small, familiar t-shaped device in the palm of her hand...which closed on it tightly. The reporter heard things snap and crack, and then the demon idly threw the crushed remnants away from the table.

Staring down at her stomach, Lois felt strangely ****. She wondered if that had been the smart move...but then one of the golden soul-chips was pushed over to Lois' side of the table.

"Two souls left," Blaze told her, shuffling the cards. "And one way or another, you're still getting fucked. What game shall we play, lover?"
