Twist her ideas about Craig's faithfulness

"Craig and Erica, can you give us a moment?" you say, after a few seconds of deliberation. "I think Amy just needs a little time to cool off. I'll talk to her, Craig. You always appreciate how well I've been able to talk with Amy about her personal issues."

"Yeah, definitely man." says Craig, nodded emphatically. "You've always been so good at helping her with her problems. Take all the time you need."

Craig looks at Amy with an apologetic expression. "I know you're upset Amy, but I love you, okay? I'll leave you and John to talk for a little."

"I love you too, Craig." responds Amy. "I'll just be a minute. John's always been able to help me out with my issues."

You smile inwardly. Though you and Craig had always been good friends, Craig and Amy had always kept their own issues between themselves. Apparently your statement to Craig has further reinforced Amy's own perceptions of how you fit into their relationship. Not only is she more willing to discuss her relationship issues with Craig with you, but now you appear to be the go-to person for advice.

"Why don't you and Erica wait in the car?" you suggest. "Great idea." Craig says, opening the driver's side door and getting in. You give a small smile to Erica as she gets in the car as well, a smile which she returns with a wink. You're fairly sure she'll find *something* exciting to discuss with Craig while they're alone.

You turn to Amy, who's still obviously a bit upset. "Now, Amy," you say, with a sympathetic expression on your face, "I know you've discussed cheating and infidelity with Craig before."

"Of course." Says Amy. "We both made it very clear that we are with each other, and only each other. And it's not like I don't trust him, but it can just be a bit annoying to see him eyeing up other women, even if I know he'll never do anything."

You nod, a grin spreading across your face. "That's cute, Amy, but you don't need to come up with conventional reasons to be upset around me."

Amy gives you a confused look with a quirked eyebrow. "I'm not making up reasons! I'm just trying to explain the situation to you so you can help me out with a personal issue."

A shake of your head gives Amy pause. You continue. "No, you're not annoyed because of the attention he's giving other women."

Amy's confusion turns to a slight worry. "Oh... well, I'm usually pretty conscious of my emotions... Maybe I just got up on the wrong side of the bed."

You chuckle, continuing, "Nah, you're not just in a bad mood. I can see right through you! No need to hide anything from me. I know you're annoyed that Craig won't just follow up on the attention he gives other women. You want to see him being a prime specimen of a man, knowing that you're the one he chose first. That you're the one he actually chose to make a life with. And you want other women to know that."

Amy looks embarrassed to be discussing this in a public place. She looks around nervously. "Shush, shush, shush, I don't want other people to hear! Ok, fine, I might have a bit of a dominant streak in me."

You shake your head again. "No, not dominance, exactly, I can tell. You don't want to **** the women he has sex with. But you want them to know that you're important to the man they are attracted to. Besides, you find the idea of your husband cheating on you really hot. You'd love to watch him with another woman. Right?"

Biting her bottom lip, Amy slowly nods. "Wow. Got all of that just from the looks I was giving him, huh? I just wish he would take a girl he likes and bring her home so they could have some fun. And, well, I could have some fun watching."

You interject. "And I'm sure you wouldn't mind joining in if they wanted you too. You've always been a bit curious how a threeway between Craig, you, and another woman would go."

Amy chuckles softly. "Well, I've had sex with Craig before, I'd probably want to watch first. But sure, I wouldn't be opposed to the idea."

With a bit more insistence, you add "Women turn you on too, if they're having sex with your husband."

Amy nods, agreeing more out of habit then thought. "Yes. Women do turn me on while they're having sex with my husband."

Relatively satisfied, you wrap up the conversation. "Well, hey, maybe you'll get a chance with Craig and Erica. Or with some other girl that catches Craig's attention. I bet he'll be bringing all sorts of girls into your bed. Maybe you should actually talk about this with him. Probably at brunch. Don't wanna let this chance pass you by."

"Yeah, I should! It's not fair of me to just be irritated with Craig if he doesn't read my mind about this sort of thing. Thanks, John, I feel a lot better." Amy says, as she turns to join the others in the car.
