Tuesday Lunch

Sandra is sitting in the break room when Jackie walks in to get her meal from the fridge. “Sandra, can I ask you something?” Sandra indicates for her to sit. “What do you know about Mark?”

“Not much, really. He has helped me with some issues with my work computer. I got him to do a side project for me. He seems nice, but I don’t know much more about him.”

Jackie nods, “He seems nice, just a little shy. Insecure?”

“Yeah. I have noticed that too.” Sandra smiles. “I saw the flirtation yesterday. Are you?”

“No. Yes. Maybe? I don’t know. He’s cute, but I don’t want to train someone.” She blushes slightly, “If you know what I mean.”

“Yeah. I know.” Sandra thinks, ‘Maybe I need to finish paying him soon.’

“Thanks. I just wanted to figure out what I wanted to do, and it seemed like you two had some history.”

Sandra bites her lip. “Yes, mostly professional though.”

Jackie gets up to leave. “Oh, please don’t mention any of this to him.”

“Of course not. If nothing else, he is fun to flirt with and frustrate.” Sandra winks.

Jackie giggles as she leaves.

During his lunch hour, Josh felt the need to get some fresh air.. His meetings all morning have been taxing, and he needed to get out of the building. He found a food truck that was selling tamales and was studying the menu when someone tapped his shoulder. A bit startled and flustered, Josh was hoping to spend his lunch alone in his thoughts, but having this woman that he had fantasized about showing up was not something he was going to turn away.. “Oh hi, Stephanie. How are you?”

“I’m doing well, thanks.”

They place their orders and find a place to sit down and eat.

“Josh? I was wondering if I could ask a favor of you?” She looks down, reminding him of a little child. “Could I get your personal number? I told one of the IT guys my issue from yesterday this morning.” Stephanie shivers. “He just gave me the creeps and how he was just staring at my chest. It made me feel dirty. I won’t use it unless I need your help with computer stuff.”

Josh looks up before she catches him staring at her exposed cleavage and shapely legs. “Sure. I know my wife has some issues with the way men look at her. It is 555-1234.”

She pulls out her phone and adds him as a contact and sends him a text. “There, now you will know it is me.” She scoots closer to him to give someone room to sit, their hips touching slightly. Josh secretly thanks the cage restricting his attempted erection.
