Trying to get a job with you
"I was thinking," Elsa says, her voice taking on a more serious tone. "I've been considering a career change. Maybe something... closer to home. I could work with you. Learn the family trade."
Her words catch you off guard. You've never thought of your daughter actually wanting to work with you, but the idea isn't entirely unappealing. "That's surprising," you reply, trying to keep the excitement from your voice. "What made you decide that?"
Elsa shrugs. "I don't know," she says coyly. "I want to work with you. I've seen how happy it makes mom when you talk about work, and I want to be a part of that. Plus, I know you guys need help, and who better than me to pay my share of bills?"
"I just hired a new secretary. I dunno..." Elsa's proposition hangs in the air as you consider the implications. Having your daughter work alongside you would be a significant shift in dynamics, but you can't deny the potential benefits. You know she's a hard worker and a quick learner when she put her mind into things, and you've always enjoyed her company. Plus, it would be nice to have someone you trust implicitly in the office. "Let me think about it," you say finally, trying to keep your excitement in check. "It's definitely something to consider."
Elsa's proposal lingers in the air as you both wander through the mall. You're torn between the excitement of having her closer and the fear of mixing family and work. But the thought of having her by your side, learning the ins and outs of your business, fills you with a sense of pride. Plus, you can't help but wonder if this is her way of hinting she knows about Ava's and your new secret.
"Now, come on, let's go shopping. Maybe I can find something to wear that'll look good for my first day."
"Yeah I think your current wardrobe isn't made for my type of work excitement." you joke, trying to lighten the mood.
"Well if you don't want to go with me. That fine." You watch her walk toward a high end clothing store.
