Try to untie the ropes around your knees

Hiding in the alleyway, you do your best to work at the knot on the rope at your knees, but you can't make any headway at all.

A man in a suit starts to walk through the alley, and you beg him for help. He comes over and has a go at untying your bonds, but again, can't loosen them at all.
