Chapter 7

What happens for the first workout?
Treadmill!
BUM, BUM, BUM, CHE, CHE, CHE, BUM BUM BUM, CHE, CHE, CHE. The beginning of the next song started to play. Reina had asked him what kind of music he wanted to listen to while working out. It was apparently policy that everyone wear a pair of their headphones while working out. The device looped around his neck and the ear pugs pulled out of the horseshoe device to go in his ears. Jerry was happy with his choice or well the choices Reina made based on what he said. “I would like something upbeat, good rhythm and umm I like rock music.” The song that started to play was by Sugarcult, a rock band. A lot of their music could be described as if a toddler was really good at rock music, but had also just taken more than a few pixie sticks. It was a lot better than the Ariana Grande that had played just before it.
“You trust your personal trainer. They want to help you, be the real you. You trust your personal trainer. They want to help you, be the real you.” The words sunk into Jerry’s mind as the music poured through the headphones.
“I… don’t… have… “ Jerry let out a breath of air, he had been on the treadmill for less than twelve minutes and was already out of breath. “That stamina for this.”
Swinging her arms as she jogged on the treadmill next to Jerri, Reina gave her a smile and a thumbs up. “It will come in time, trust me and you will have a great body.” He did want to trust her and wanted to be in shape. He hadn’t intended to come in here today, but with the ratio of men to women once he was in shape maybe he would have the courage to ask one of them out. Maybe even Reina.
“It is okay to show your feminine side, you feel more confident being feminine. It is okay to show your feminine side, you feel more confident being feminine.” The next layer of training came through.
Putting his feet on the side of the treadmill Jerry squeezed some water from the pink bottle with a black cap. The water tasted lightly of strawberries and lemon, almost like a strawberry lemonade. Everything his trainer had given him was pink in some way, and when he wasn’t particularly happy about not having other options. “We do actually! We also have lemon yellow and rose red, but we only had pink for in your size shoe and.” The petite but toned girl shrugged. “It wasn’t like I was going to give you things that didn’t match. Sorry we didn’t have other options, but a size nine and a half is a popular shoe size. Also trust me, pink looks good on you.”
He wanted to argue that his feet were a size eight, but he never liked that he had small feet so he wasn’t going to correct her. The shoes he wore now fit and that was all that really mattered. He wanted to doubt Reina about him looking good in pink, but he trusted that she thought so and he wasn’t going to have a good relationship with her if he was constantly questioning her. So he went back to jogging, hoping things got easier so his burning lungs didn’t give out on him.
“You trust your personal trainer. They want to help you, be the real you.It is okay to show your feminine side, you feel more confident being feminine.”
“How much… longer?” Jerry wiped the sweat from his forehead with the arm band he had been given in the same colors as the rest of his outfit.
“Thirty minutes on the treadmill, then we will do some stretches so I can get a baseline. Today is just so I can get a feel for you Jerri. Stick with me and I will make you look irresistible.” Jogging on a treadmill and stretching didn’t sound much like a workout, but I would like to be the one people are looking at for once instead of being ignored, he thought.Reina seemed confident she could help him so he wasn’t going to give up. He had been to other gyms before and just felt like he didn’t belong, and had no intention of even stepping foot inside SpaFreu, but he was glad he did. He felt safe here, he wanted to join SpaFreu and he trusted Reina. Heck the clothes she gave him while feminine weren’t so bad, they were a tool to help him get in shape. Being pink and feminine didn’t matter; it was like a knight going into battle. It didn’t matter how it looked, it was about doing its job and he was feeling more confident with his armor. Ready to do battle against genetics that made him small and his laziness that made him weak.
“I want to be irresistible!” He proclaimed trying to work himself up to find more energy or some hidden extra pocket of air in his lungs to help him keep going.
“That's it, we got this. Girl power!” He gave her a sheepish smile, from most of the clientele it was clear she was used to working with the fairer sex and let it go. He didn’t want to embarrass Reina, he already trusted her and didn’t want to be put with a different trainer.
“You trust your personal trainer. They want to help you, be the real you.It is okay to show your feminine side, you feel more confident being feminine.”
