Traveling on Route 1

You and your Eevee are walking along the Route towards Viridian City. This wouldn't be your first time in Viridian, but it would be your first time walking there on the Route. Sure, there were proper roads and such to reach Viridian. But part of The Journey was to walk by your own two feet (ok, Bikes were technically allowed) from place to place. Doing anything else was considered cheating.

Blue Oak might be a lot of things, and he wasn't against bending the rules or outright lying. But he didn't NEED to cheat. He is Blue MOTHERFUCKING Oak! You didn't need to cheat!

Only losers like Amber or Team Rocket needed to cheat.

Still, that was neither here or there. Of your immediate concern was befriending your Eevee. Because one of the amazing things about Eevee is that one of the many ways they can evolve is by befriending them. Which was why you were currently taking to her, even if she technically couldn't talk back.

"So, how about Amy?" the Eevee shook its tail and head in a manner that you had figured out meant no. She was doing a lot of that. "Jewel?" No again, "Brittney?" No, yet again. "Barbie?" No again. You had been going at this for minutes and were starting to run out of names. "Emily?" You observed the Pokémon and for a moment it looks like she might actually like the name, but she still signals no.

But she seemed to at least consider the name, it was something. "Ok, so how about Erica? No, that's a gym leader. Umm.... Elly?" You hear a noise and it takes a moment for you to realize what you heard. Then you look at the Eevee and realize that she is looking at you with a smile on her face. "Elly, you like that?" She not only shakes her head and tail to signal yes, but she again makes that same noise you heard earlier. It isn't a bark or a hiss, but more of a meow. "Ok, Elly it is."

This seems to cheer her, or ELLY up, and you see her happily dance around as the two of you continue walking down the path.

Pleased with yourself and enjoying the sight of Elly frolicking in the grass you allow a genuine smile to appear on your face. So far it has been a good day. The only thing that you can think of that would make this day better is if you found a trainer to defeat.

It seems that Arceus heard your thoughts, because as you and Elly crest over a hill you see a Pokémon Trainer. She was currently resting on a bench as she rubbed her feet. A mischievous grin on your face you call out to Elly, "Let's go." As you speed up from your casual walk into a gental jog, your starter easily keeping up with you. As you get closer the girl hears you and turns her head in your direction. Her expression quickly turning to one of resignation as she sees you and your Pokémon.

Now that you are closer you can get a closer look at her and she isn't bad looking, in fact she was kind of pretty. Not a sexy slutty bombshell like Amber, but still pretty. You actually find yourself intrigued by the fact that she wasn't dressed like a cheap whore. It made you want to tear off her clothing and discover what was underneath all the more.

As you locked eyes with the girl, her face a tired look of resignation while you grinned confidently, you tell her, "I challenge you to a Pokémon Battle."
