Todd meets with his friends before the bell rings

It's the next morning, and Ava has already left for school, but she ordered Angela to drive the rest to school

Angela: HURRY UP, WE'RE GONNA BE LATE

Todd: We have plenty of time

Angela: I want to talk to my friends before the bell rings, not like you know what that's like

Todd: I have friends

Angela: You mean that loser Kai, and that Muslim girlfriend of yours that doesn't even hold your hand in public

Todd: Her father doesn't approve of someone like

Angela: Of course not. Who would want a loser like you to date their daughter

Angela: And what's with you Lana? You've been quiet all morning

Lana: I just have a lot on my mind

Lana can't get out of her head what you did to her yesterday

Angela: I thought you were doing well with preparing for the tournament

Lana: I am, I guess I'm getting a little nervous, since the tournament is getting closer

Todd: How come you're always nice to her

Angela: Because she's not a loser like you, she doesn't embarrass me by simply existing

Lana: Let's just go, you two can insult each other in the car

They all get in Angela's car, and she drives to school

Angela: I'll see you tonight, Lana

Angela walks away to her friend group, ignoring Todd

Todd: bitch

Lana: Don't call her that, even if she is one too you

Todd: Sorry

Lana: Don't let her get in your head. Now go, I'm sure Mia is waiting for you

Todd: Then I'll see you later, Lana

Lana: Sure, see you later

Todd walks into the school building and sees Mia sitting on a bench reading a book

Todd: Morning, Mia

She looks up and immediately smiles when she sees her boyfriend

Mia: Morning, Todd

They walk to each other, and Todd hesitantly gives a kiss on Mia's cheek

Mia: t-thank you

They have been dating for months, but they're both still virgins and too shy to even kiss each other on the mouth

Todd: How have you been

Mia: Good, though my father has been asking questions about my so called muslim boyfriend

Todd: I'm sorry

Mia: It's okay, I think I was able to trick him, but he will find out sooner or later

Todd: I know

Mia: What about you

Todd: I played some games with Kai

Mia: That's nice, though I still don't get the appeal of games

Todd: And I don't get the appeal of books

Todd: By the way, have you seen him

Mia: Yeah, he went to the lockers a couple of minutes ago

Todd: Let's go to him then

They walk to where the student lockers are, but they see Kai standing on the corner before the lockers, peeking past the corner towards the lockers

Mia: uhm Kai

He quickly turns around

Kai: Oh crap, don't scare me like that

Todd: What are you doing

Kai: Nothing

Todd looks past Kai and sees who he's staring at

Todd: Really, Kai, staring at Kenzie again

Kai: I can't help it, she's so beautiful

Todd: Then ask her out

Kai: What? No way, we have nothing in common

Todd: Kai, you have been crushing on her for months. What's stopping you from making a move, your both 18 years old and single, take a shot

Kai: She's the Mayor's daughter, she lives in the richest part of the city, and I live in the poorest

Todd: Kenzie is really kind, she won't laugh at you because you ask her out. If she says no, it will be in a kind way

Kai: Why don't you ask her out then

Mia: Because I'm dating him

Todd: And we're cousins, our mothers are sisters, remember

Kai: Alright, I can do this

Kai walks towards Kenzie while she's putting her things in her locker, but before he even gets close, she is approached by one of the jocks

Kai: fuck

Kai runs back to Todd and Mia

Todd: So how did it go

He says sarcastically

Kai: What did I expect? I can't stand up to that, I'll get beaten up

Mia: She doesn't seem to be happy talking to him

The three look at Kenzie and can tell she's annoyed to have to talk with him

Todd: Kenzie doesn't like bullies, and all the jocks are pretty much that

Mia: Wasn't her brother the biggest bully in the school when he went here

Todd: he was, Kenzie doesn't have the best relationship with her brother Rick

The jock walks away from Kenzie after being rejected

Todd: Come on now is your time

Before Kai can even place a step towards Kenzie, the intercom is turned on, and they hear Ava's voice

Intercom: Can all students and staff member make their way to the gymnasium for the new Headmaster's welcome speech

Todd: Time's up, I guess

Kai watches as Kenzie closes her locker and walks away

Kai: damn it

Todd: Come on dude, let's go, I don't want my mom to be mad at me for not arriving on time
