“I think I’m glad I didn’t take the upgrade last night after everything that happened but with the time I’ve had since then, I think I should at least take level 4. I don’t think there's any point in not taking it now. It’s just stopping us from being together and everything the KDK has given me so far has only made me happier” she continued, resting her hand on your own as further confirmation.

“I think you’ve got a bit more faith in the KDK than me but I was still hoping you’d say that anyway. There is the option of limiting the effects with the settings I unlocked but that’s still something we haven’t actually tested. The same with removing upgrades.” you replied, navigating to her profile to watch her timer tick towards the ten thousand second goal.

“The upgrade I still want to wait on but that’s more about my own self control than anything else. I know we discussed putting the app on my PC instead of my phone but I just wanna consider my options for a little longer” Emma revealed, leaving you only a few short seconds before the two of you reached that all important goal.

You should have expected that massive wave of notifications that came with a level up but you were still overcome by the just wall of text as you started working your way through it. Emma was reading alongside you and you lingered on her effects for longer to give her time to process, only briefly looking to the new ‘keep it up’ effect so you could remember it before navigating back to her new descriptions.

Just as you were about to scroll back up, Emma stopped you from doing so and focused more on the ‘keep it up’ effect.

“How the hell does that even work? I mean nothing that has happened so far is realistic but the fact that it can prevent illness just seems out of left field” Emma commented, surprised at the effect.

You had to admit that it was surprising for that power up. It did somewhat fit if you considered the past effects it had given. First, it decreased your refractory period and upped how much you came. Then delaying your orgasm for level 2. Level 3 went less sexual made it so you had to sleep less but in turn, gave you more time to potentially spend with your subjects.

Level 4 seemed like a longer term extension of that. If you were sick then you could be bedridden or just in a position where seeing your subjects was not a good idea. The ‘mental health conditions’ did worry you slightly as that would suggest a change to your brain or your perception itself. Would depression be an effect it could prevent? What about just feeling sad? Everyone has negative emotions so you didn’t want to get rid of them if that was the choice you were making.

“I get what you mean but it’s done weirder things. I mean you can see my memories in a dream and there’s a perk available for me that lets me see through any subject’s eyes.” you explained, getting reminded that you might have something new to buy from the perk screen now that you had levelled up.

Eye of the Beholder -
Allows the user to view through a selected Subject's eyes for 10 minutes or less after activating. User cannot influence the Subject’s actions directly during this time and can cancel the effect whenever they wish.

Lets the user view the description of achievements that they have not unlocked yet. Does not reveal the rewards or point/XP totals that the user will receive once the achievement is completed.

Limit Breaker V2 -
Limit Breaker is upgraded so that it becomes more potent and its effect lasts longer. Updated description for if this effect is purchased:
Once every 48 hours, the user can choose a subject that will have their level up rate tripled, effectively having 3 seconds of growth for every second spent in contact with the user. The effect will last for 2 hours and the effect cannot be swapped to a new subject during this time. Limit Breaker will stack with other time-related effects.

Pickpocket -
User can borrow one of the subject’s upgrades and/or active effects for a short period of time. The only condition being that the subject has to consent to the effect being used, most likely meaning they need to be aware of the KDK’s existence.
Upgrades are borrowed for one hour and active effects are calculated individually (usually based upon the cooldown rate of the effect).
