What power do you wish for?
Time control
Sophie: "I wanna be able to control time."
Goddess Sophie: "That's the spirit! Any particulars? You wanna stop time? Speed up the flow of time? Travel in time? Have infinite retries?"
Sophie: "All of that. Also I wanna be able to target my powers locally."
Goddess Sophie: "Like, so that you could for example stop time only within a single room, or trap a single person in a groundhog day kinda loop?"
Sophie: "Yes."
Goddess Sophie: "Consider it done."
You don't feel particularly different. Maybe just a tiny tinge of activity in your brains.
Goddess: "Try it out. It should be pretty intuitive."
You try stopping time. At first, it doesn't seem to do anything, since Goddess Sophie is still as lively as ever, floating four inches above ground. Then, a windswept leaf, hanging still in mid-air, catches your eye. The plumes of smoke from the faraway industrial zone have ceased billowing. The sounds of traffic have turned dead still.
Sophie: "Whoa. It actually works!"
You nudge time forwards, but only a tiny bit. You leave time running at x00.1 speed, meaning that you can now walk about casually at 300 miles an hour. Or how about at x0.000000001 speed? Now you can effectively run faster than the speed of light.
You bring everything to a complete halt once more, and travel an hour and fifteen minutes backwards in time, when you were originally supposed to arrive at the studio. Goddess Sophie is still with you, although instinctually you can tell that she has turned herself imperceptible to anyone besides you. Here, you can see an unfamiliar figure: a young hot blonde exiting a red convertible - this must be Christie Addario. You check through their wallet to confirm your suspicions.
Sophie: "Time for my first gag. Deity-me, can you give me a marker?"
Goddess Sophie: "Here."
She spawns a marker out of nothingness and hands it to you. You use it to spell 'CUMSLUT' onto Christie's face.
Goddess Sophie: "Hm. Juvenile and petty. You've got all the makings of a bona fide Goddess!"
You hide behind the corner, restart timeflow and watch gleefully as Christie introduces herself to the bewildered director, who already looks like they're regretting their choice of actress. Perfect! Maybe if you humiliate Christie enough times, she'll get fired, and when your past self eventually comes to work, they'll have to take you back!
Sophie: "I feel like I should feel bad about this, but I don't."
Goddess Sophie: "Duh. Didn't you listen before? I changed the concept of morality so that everything you do is moral. If you decide that Christie needs to lose her job, toying with her is morally the correct thing to do, and in fact not toying with her would be immoral."
Sophie: "Right, right. Will this affect other people too?"
Goddess Sophie: "Only in relation to yourself. If you were to, say, leave massive claw marks on Christie's car, then everyone would think that you're morally correct to do so. But if someone else keyed somebody's car, that would still be considered immoral."
Sophie: "I think I get it. I'm an exception to morality!"
Goddess Sophie: "You can call it that, yes."
You travel back in time two weeks, when you were still working on the project, and were able to enter the building freely. You nonchalantly pass the security guard, hide in a closet and then go two weeks forward in time again. It occurs to you that no enclosed space is safe from you anymore - you can bypass any security measures with a convenient detour through the fourth dimension.
You stop time again. Now you find Christine in her dressing room, trying desparately to wash off the permanent marker from her face. You decide to help her a bit by speeding things up. For a moment, time outside of the room runs 60 times faster than normal.
Oh, silly you! This doesn't help Christie clean herself faster - in fact it'll make it seem like it's taking her hours! You realign timeflow just as the director comes over to knock on her door and ask what's the holdup. Christie and the director have a loud argument over what 'just a moment' means.
You know, despite morality being on your side, you still kinda feel bad. Anything you do is morally valid, but you've chosen to torment Christie, who honestly doesn't have anything with you getting fired besides having been hired in your stead. It's really the director you should be messing with.
What do you do about this dilemma?
