They notice something.

Sally freezes dead in her tracks as she hears her mother formulating her statement. She hadn’t truly thought they would notice! She had done so much research on this costume, light enough to truly feel naked but still conceal her nudity. To make matters worse, she’s about to be called out on this by her own parents! Her heart felt as though it jumped into her throat.

“Honey, it looks fine, but perhaps you should think about wearing a sweater?” Her mom says as she gets up from the sofa. She walks over to Sally who is still frozen with uncertainty. She leans in and whispers to Sally, “I know you typically don’t wear bras sweetheart, but it looks like you could cut diamonds in this chilly air.”

Sally is unsure whether she suspects her totally nudity or is just giving her a genuine, innocent observation. Her mother smiles and walks to the kitchen. With tentative steps Sally follows behind.

“Well yeah mom… of course I planned to….” She stammers out trying to remain cool. “I just didn’t feel like adding all that extra stuff to show you my costume!”

“Ok honey, well besides that, I think it looks nice. Bare arms may be cold but you’re a woman who can make your own choices.” Her mother says, turning to pour her a glass of wine.

Sally watches her mother for a few more seconds before satisfied that she is in the clear. Sally goes to return to her room and as she does the setting sun casts its light through the window against her. For a brief moment her mother could have sworn she caught a glimpse of her daughter’s bare butt shining through the semi-transparent material thanks to the lighting, but shakes her head in disbelief.

“No, Sally’s a good girl. She wouldn’t do anything reckless like that, this wines a bit stronger than I thought!”
