They forgive him

Cody floated in his green phantom form, arms crossed, looking at Aaron's purple ghost. Hailey zipped around the room in her orange form, a whirlwind of translucent energy. They hovered there for a long, silent moment, the air thick with unspoken tension.

Finally, Cody let out a long, weary sigh, his ghostly form shimmering slightly. "Payback is going to be a massive pain in the ass," he admitted, his voice echoing slightly. "I mean, what are we going to do? Possess him and make him run around the school naked? It's just... a lot of effort."

Hailey stopped her erratic flying and hovered beside her brother. "He has a point," she said, her orange glow softening. "Plus, you're my brother's weird, nerdy best friend. I've known you since you had braces and couldn't talk to girls without stuttering. Getting some elaborate **** scheme going feels like too much work for what it's worth."

Aaron let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "So... we're good? You're not going to, like, trap me in the body of the school janitor or something?"

"Nah," Cody said, a small grin forming on his spectral face. "But you owe me. Big time. And you," he pointed a finger at Aaron, "are never, *ever* allowed to possess my sister again. Understood?"

"Crystal clear," Aaron said, nodding vigorously.

Hailey flew closer to Aaron, her orange face inches from his purple one. "And you," she said, poking him in the chest. Her finger went right through his ghostly body, but the intent was clear. "If you ever, and I mean *ever*, play with my boobs again, I will learn how to use these powers just to find a way to make your life a living hell. I'll possess you and make you fail every single one of your genius-level tests."

Aaron held up his transparent hands in surrender. "I swear! It was just a test! I was curious! I'm a teenage guy, it's kind of what we do!"

"Ugh, gross," Hailey said, but she was smiling a little now. "Fine. We're cool. But you're buying me pizza for a month."

"Deal," Aaron agreed instantly. "So... now what? We're like, the Ghostbusters or something? A weird, multi-colored super team?"

Cody snorted, a puff of green smoke escaping him. "More like the weirdo trio. We can't possess each other, which is probably for the best. But we can fly, go through walls, and possess... well, pretty much anyone else on the planet."

Hailey's eyes lit up. "Oh my god. The possibilities!" she squealed. "I could possess the meanest cheerleader on the squad and make her fall flat on her face during the big game! Or I could possess Mr. Henderson and give everyone an A+ on the next calculus test!"

Aaron looked at her, impressed. "You're a natural at this. I was just thinking about messing with people."

"That's because you're a boy," Hailey said matter-of-factly. "I'm thinking strategically."

They all drifted back towards their bodies, the initial awkwardness fading, replaced by a buzzing excitement. They settled back into their physical forms, a strange but now familiar sensation.

"So, tonight?" Aaron asked, rubbing his arms as the feeling returned. "Do we go out? Test the limits?"

"I'm in," Cody said, a predatory gleam in his eye. "I know exactly who I want to possess first. That jerk quarterback who thinks he's so much better than me. I'm going to make him confess his undying love for the waterboy."

Hailey laughed. "Okay, that's pretty good. I still want to mess with the cheerleaders, though."

They all stood there, a new, powerful bond forming between them. The awkwardness was gone, replaced by a shared, incredible secret.

"You know," Aaron said with a wistful sigh, looking at Hailey. "I have to admit, there's one thing I'm going to miss about being in your body."

Cody's eyes narrowed instantly. "Don't you dare finish that sentence, Bradly."

Hailey just rolled her eyes. "Oh, here we go."

"No, no, not like that!" Aaron said quickly, holding up his hands. "I mean... well, yeah, that was part of it, but not the main thing! I just meant, you know... I missed being able to, you know... *handle things* myself. It's a whole different perspective from the other side, you know? A definite learning experience. I just... I'm just saying I'll miss that specific... functionality."

There was a dead silence. Cody looked like he was about to lunge across the room and strangle him. Hailey stared at him, her mouth slightly agape.

Then, a snort escaped her lips. It was followed by another, and then she burst out laughing, a full, genuine laugh that made her whole body shake. "Oh my god, you are such a dork!" she wheezed, wiping tears from her eyes.

Cody stared at his sister, then at Aaron, and the sheer absurdity of the situation finally hit him. He shook his head, a **** grin spreading across his face. "Dude," he said, clapping Aaron on the shoulder. "You are unbelievable. Let's just... let's go find some people to mess with who aren't related to me."

"Sounds like a plan," Aaron said, relieved.

Hailey was still giggling as she grabbed her jacket. "Okay, but if I see you trying to 'test the functionality' on some random girl on the street, I'm possessing you and making you donate all your money to a cat charity."

"Fair enough," Aaron chuckled. "Fair enough."

They headed out the door, three normal-looking teenagers with an extraordinary, purple, green, and orange secret, ready to see what kind of trouble they could get into. What's the first person you think they should possess to test out their teamwork?
