They find a party in town

While Zack and Heather took showers, boredom quickly set in as the rest of the group sat around the dining room table. No one wanted to stay inside the cabin, but outdoor activities were out as well because of the weather. Every idea put forward was quickly shot down for one reason or another.

“What about fishing?” Gavin suggested. “The clouds’ll make for a good catch.”

“Too cold. And I just did my nails,” Ashley retorted.

“You did?” asked Brandon, causing his girlfriend to stuff her hands in her pockets.

“YES!” she glared at him.

“Well, I’m out of ideas. What are we going to do guys?” huffed Gavin as he pulled out his phone.

Just when it appeared that everyone was just going to give up and go to bed early, Heather entered the room. With her hair still wet from the shower the brunette quickly entered the conversation.

“Has anyone checked the newspaper for some ideas? Maybe there’s a movie playing, or something going on in town?”

A collective “Uh…” came from the six teens sitting at the table. Rolling her eyes, the head cheerleader snatched the paper from the counter and opened it.

“WOW! Would you look at that? Local fire department to host ‘Country/Western Night’ tonight,” Heather laughed as she spoke with a fake drawl. “Don’t know about y’all, but where I come from that sounds like something to do!”

“That sounds like fun! Right, Baby?” Ashley turned to Brandon and squealed.

“Loads,” he sighed.

“Will we have to dress up?” Chloe squirmed, dreading the idea of parading around in shorts in front of strangers.

“OF COURSE! No fun if you don’t!” Heather grinned.

“Aww shucks!” shouted the football star as his girlfriend shifted from her chair to his lap. “I left my cowboy hat at home!”

“Well, it’s a good thing my grandparents have a ton of them in the storage room. Kurt, be a dear and go get them, please,” laughed the sultry brunette as visions of her new beau in a Stetson filled her head.

“I take it you’ll want me to clean them up too?”

“Yup!”

Brandon rolled his eyes as Zack made his presence known.

“What’s all the commotion about?”

“Back to the bedroom and put on a pair of Wranglers, Zack!”

“Huh?” the teen puzzled as his new girlfriend pushed him back to their room.

“Heather wants us to dress up like cowboys and go line dancing,” Brandon answered.

“Any objections?” asked Heather.

“YES!” shouted Kurt, Brandon, and Chloe in unison.

“Any objections that I’ll actually listen to?”

“NO!” laughed Ashley and Victoria.

“Good. The party’s going on all day, so everyone go get ready!”
