Well continue looking around or get change and leave

They decided to make the most of the day

They spent the next couple of hours just walking the floor. Panels, artist alley, photo ops none of it felt as overwhelming once the sharp edge of the side effect had quieted. The matching Spider suits still made them aware of each other, but it was background now instead of constant pressure.

Near the far end of the hall they found a vendor section selling regular clothes and undergarments specifically for people who’d gone through the change. The signs were straightforward: Temporary Fit Weekend Wear. Racks of plain jeans, soft shirts, bras, boxers, and underwear in a range of sizes, all marked as returnable Monday if they didn’t fit after the revert.

John stopped in front of a display of bras and simple underwear. Everything she was wearing under the Spider-Gwen suit was either ruined or didn’t match the new body. Miles drifted toward the men’s side without comment.

She picked out a couple of soft bras in her new size and a few pairs of underwear that looked like they’d actually stay put. The fabric felt different against her skin when she held them lighter, less restrictive than the costume. Miles came back with a small stack of boxers and a couple of plain T-shirts and jeans.

They paid with the temporary cards the info desk had given them. The cashier didn’t ask questions; half the people in line were doing the same thing.

Outside the vendor booth they found a quiet corner near the loading doors and took turns changing in a larger accessible bathroom. John pulled the Spider-Gwen suit down and stepped into the new underwear and a soft black T-shirt and jeans. The clothes sat differently looser in some places, tighter in others but they felt more like actual clothes than a second skin. When she came out, Miles was already in a gray shirt and dark jeans, the Miles costume folded under one arm.

“Better?” he asked.

“Yeah. Feels less… on display.”

They bagged the costumes and kept walking. For the first time since the booths, John could move without every step reminding her of the suit. The new body was still there—weight of her chest, the way her hips moved—but regular clothes made it quieter. Miles seemed more settled too.

They bought food, sat through a panel neither of them really followed, and wandered the quieter back halls where people were just talking. The weekend still stretched out in front of them, but at least now they had something to wear when they eventually left the building.
