The training arc BEGINS.

This is hell... One of my clones was using my Shield to defend from Colossus and Gambit's attacks, firing back with my Green Lethal Orb. Another was flying around, trying to follow Angel's directions and avoid the weapons swung and thrown at him by Nightcrawler. A third was currently working out in the gym, working each part of their body. The last 2 clones working together to try and defend themselves against the duo of Cyclops and Iceman, who switched out with Shadowcat and Magik every once in awhile seemingly at random. My original body? I was testing a few things, summoning replacement clones when they took enough damage to dispel, studying science and learning as many lessons I could from the teachers willing to get close. So Emma, Jean and Beast for the most part, meanwhile Betsy was having fun just watching the show. Hours were spent in this training ground, Colossus hitting the shield only for the repulse energy wave sending her into the ground, creating a long trench of a ditch while Gambit leaped over, sending a flurry of explosive cards at that clone before she got smashed by a green orb back to the ground. Neither of them seeming like they'd been even slowed down as they got up and got right back to the fight. That was the last time my clone got lucky shots in like that...

The clone trying to fly around Angel's obstacle course and avoid Nightcrawler's random attacks was doing better slowly, getting a bit faster and learning how to better turn and avoid attacks, up until a BAMF grabbed him and drove him into the ground. The clone dispelling with me sending a replacement out shortly after. Looking over to the 2 clone team, I found them getting blasted with frost or beams of energy, until they needed replacing. The new clones charging in to try and fight up close, which only went even worse for them... when a new set of clones went running at them? The teams switched, Magik leaving her sword out of the fight thankfully, though her and Shadowcat still beat and threw my clones around with ease. Speaking up Kitty was also getting lessons from Laura about how to better use her claws, Kitty's claws having grown sharper and more durable the more she used them, she found out she could even retract them enough to not cut anyone by accident.

The clone at the gym suddenly dispelled, when I got the memories back I found out why... Logan had decided to teach me close combat by using my clone, so I sent another one running to replace the one that she'd beaten down so easily. Each new clone learned from the last ones defeat, each one getting steadily better at fighting as they were replaced. I was doing my best to try and learn everything I could, imagine my surprise when a screen appeared in front of me as I started reading through a new book.

I froze and asked Jean to stop everyone and call them in. I explained that I had things I could do that would help advance my training faster, when they asked how I tried to explain it as a feeling I got, until Emma established a mental connection and demanded an answer. Jean must have sensed something cause she spun around and gave Emma a warning glare. "What is it Zane? Are you sure it'll work?" I nodded my head as best I could before trying to explain. "It... Well... If I could show you somehow what I'm seeing..." Jean smiled at me and got a little closer. "I could try connecting my mind to yours, try to see what you see. Emma has the most experience with that I think, though any of us could do it." With that said Emma stepped up and began to connect my sight to hers, when she was able to see she saw multiple quest screens stacked on top of each other, only the top two being visible. "What the hell is all this? Do you see this all the time?" "W-well no these only started showing up today, I didn't know how to bring them up what with my clone ability getting stronger and all the training I thought I should just focus on the task at hand." I explained, Emma stating she hadn't seen something like this before, that there were some -what she described as- pop ups in my view that had things like quests written on them. Jubilee laughed along with a few others that had played video games in the past. With the explanation made clear that I could earn rewards by completing these tasks, rewards that would likely help me get stronger or learn things about my powers... the decision was made. I hit accept and while my clones went to train against the team required, I went to get my ass handed to me by the recently turned female Logan, who seemed to be slowly getting used to the changes.

About an hour later and I was getting thrown around painfully as I tried to learn all I could before training was over, when an hour had passed the quest screens appeared in front of me again. That distraction netted me a kick to the side of my head that sent me to the floor, and a concerned Logan rushing over to me. "Shit! Kid? You okay?!" I was dizzy as hell but managed to raise my arm, I was struggling to stand, vision spinning, that blow felt HEAVY. All this time and I still didn't know Logan's powers aside from having those super sharp looking claws of hers. "W-what hit me? T-that felt like... M-metal?" She laughed a bit at that. "Ah that's right, you don't know about that. I got a metal coated skeleton kid, stuff is called Adamantium and it's unbreakable, good thing I was holding back or that could have done some serious damage to your head." I could FEEL my skull pulling itself back together, I had DEFINITELY just caught a concussion, I groaned as I struggled to get up and not puke. "Take it easy kid, I don't think you can continue after that." It's at that point the door opens up, The other team having come back, Scott in front asking if everything was alright. Apparently the clones had vanished the second I'd been hit by that blow, the clones were lasting a lot longer since Scott and the others held back on striking back, so I hadn't needed to replace them as often. "G-good news is, I got the quest completed screen... Bad news is I c-caught a heel kick from Logan when it popped up..." I explained, Logan looking a bit sheepish when Scott turned on her. "I'm gonna c-check something... F-fuck hang on..." I said before summoning that Red Disc, it hovered over me and bathed the whole room in a deep red light, I felt my head recovering MUCH faster and could hear the others recovering from the training they had helped me with as well. "Oh that's so much better, now that I can THINK again... It wasn't her fault, the screen blocked my view. Now that I'm looking at it, apparently it had a time limit? Which I passed both so yay! Oh there's an options men-.... WHY IS AUTO OPEN POP UPS ON?! Why is that an option let alone a DEFAULT ONE?!" I yelled at the screen in front of me, not realizing my eye was twitching. Giggles escaping from Gambit, Logan, Scott and even Kurt! They stopped when they realized what they were doing.

"Ahem, anyways so did you get any other quests?" Scott asked, as if on cue there was a small notification that appeared at the bottom left of my view, I turned to the side a moment, pressed the button and indeed found some new quests, including a few that had been sitting there waiting all day. "So new quests... I have ones that require I send a clone to study with Jean, another with Emma, one to practice close combat with Laura AND Rogue, another to the library to read up on some subjects and the last one goes to the gym to work out essentially the rest of the night. Meanwhile I have one that requires I try to fly while storm uses her power to keep me grounded, I think it might be better to wait until tomorrow for that one since there's no time limit on it. I have another that requires my main body to use my powers to try and defend myself against... Jubilee, Boom Boom, Kitty, Mercury, Magik and with Betsy on the team as well... I think my quests are trying to get me killed..." I explained, a look of **** on my face as Logan laughed, Gambit joined her and Kurt made a joke about lighting a candle for me later. Scott letting out another giggle before leading me to a room more fitting for what was too come.

We ended up in a huge room with wall to wall panels? "Well Zane, it's earlier than we would usually introduce a student to this place. But welcome to the Danger Room! I'll ask those ladies to help with your training for as long as they can and tomorrow storm can use her power here to help with your other quest. Is there really no other quests you have for tonight? You said there were quite a few right?" I told her yes, fighting to keep my blush hidden. There was no WAY I was gonna tell them about some of the others. "These are the ones that can get done tonight, the others seem to be much more long term focused." I explained... Scott left, the team came in, and my hell continued for a few hours more, until dinner time came around in fact. Rogue offered to help me get back to the kitchen to get some food, I thanked her but said I'd call back a clone now that I had most of the other quests done. That's what I did once the others left, getting out of the Danger Room and heading back to my room before getting a shower that I DESPERATELY needed. One trip for dinner later and I went back to my room to cash in all the completed quests...
