The team's return

(Author: Hey again everyone! Sorry for the hiatus, family recently got scammed. Mom got her bank cleaned out and the police basically just told her good luck instead of actually helping. So yeah, been focused on helping her with stuff for awhile now. Would love some comments if anyone wants to see more of my writing.)
As though the universe is looking to laugh at me, I hear that the team is returning already, having thankfully managed to free and retrieve Magma as she was being sent to do Apocalypse's bidding. She was currently ****, with Jean trying to help heal the damage that had been done to her mind. Meanwhile Jenny was heading straight for Laura and I was told to get some rest. I tried to ask more about if Amara was alright, only to get picked up by Penny, the towering metal woman carrying me back towards my room with ease.

I opened my eyes, looking around and struggling to lift the wreckage off of me. Off in the distance I see... Is that Laura? Her claws are slashing at a tall man with blue skin wearing some sort of armor. The blades on the end of her tail slice across his face only for her to be sent flying through several walls, Helen tried attacking next only to be slammed through the floor and into the foundation of the mansion. Jenny launched her furious self at this invader of her home, only for some guy with what appeared to be metal skin wearing a red outfit to come stab what appeared to be a tentacle through her back...

What was happening? I feel like I've missed something important. I see these attackers slowly leave, trying to drag Helen and Sinister away with them. My world spins as I stand, and blackout again...

I opened my eyes with a start, jumping in my bed and looking around on high alert. I see the mansion is undamaged, that nothing appears to have happened after all. A dream? More like a nightmare... It's still dark outside though, so I choose to try and get back to bed, to get as much sleep as I can... Preferably without the horrible nightmare dreams this time.

When I awoke in the morning... I found a message on my phone from Parker. Something about how Gwen was missing and Miles had been attacked by a huge green guy that breathed fire? What the fuck? Needless to say I headed for the lab as soon as possible. From there I managed to learn several things, first Miles was being treated at the hospital for some broken ribs and some thankfully minor burns. Second, Gwen hadn't been in contact with Miles or Peter at any point since the night New York was attacked by the fused/mutated Sinister Six. Third, Gwen wasn't the only one missing. Apparently She-Hulk was also MIA. for long enough now that Shield was getting involved and even sending Black Widow to help in the search.

Fourth, I received a message from Strange, he was explaining to me that we didn't have much time left until the bet could only be a lost cause. Saying that he still believed it would work despite the lack of evidence what I'd done had any effect at all on Dormammu. Fifth and thankfully lastly, I learned that the scientific work at the lab was proceeding exceptionally well. So well in fact that there was already a prototype of a fix for Liv's medical condition, something that could hopefully cure her degenerative disease. It would still take more time to cure her with certainty, but thankfully we had clear progress being made.

With everything checked up on at the lab, I flew to see Peter and Miles to check in on the latter. When I got the description of what Miles had been attacked by though... It sounded like some sort of green skinned demon. Horns, spikes, fire breathing attacks, but the thing that got Peter's attention most was when Miles said it was stealing scientific equipment. I suggested that if it's building something with a high enough energy draw we could possibly find it's lab by looking through the power grid and immediately messaged Black Widow to let her know, hoping that might help.

In the mean time Peter and I left Miles in the hands of the doctor as well as his latest visitors, that being his mother and his girlfriend Hailey. As Peter and I left though, we got a response back from Natasha, a location where there was quite a lot of energy being used, but there was another problem we had to deal with first... Peter noticed something moving on a nearby building so we moved too follow. He got ahead of me and was able to recognize it as I flew after him.

"Zane! It's Venom!" That was all I heard Peter say before he grunted as he was yanked into a building and thrown into a wall. "Hey Eddie. Good to see you again! You look... like your on steroids! Holy HELL Eddie!" I came around the corner just in time too see what Peter was reacting too. Venom was... Bigger. A LOT bigger than he had been the last time either of us saw him. He was moving... erratically though, it was strange, like Eddie and Venom were actually fighting each other instead of working together... Eddie attacked Peter again, but when I moved in front... Venom pulled itself off Eddie's body to get away from me.

Eddie tripped, Peter webbed him up, and Venom slithered away through a series of cracks in the buildings walls... I stared at the crack for a moment before turning too Peter. "Spider-man? Was that normal?" I asked curiously, only to get a silent and slow shaking of the head in response. Peter honestly looked stunned, almost nervous even. Eddie had lost consciousness in the webbing, his body barely covered in underwear and pants by the look of it. Peter volunteered to help get Eddie somewhere safe. Which left me with a couple choices of what to do now...

I could try and go after Venom. Or I could try to head for the location that Natasha had sent me...
