The rules

Alice felt the pull of the game and found herself slowly walking to join the others. She sat down numbly and looked around, "Ok. Let's just read the rules first...maybe it's a quick game."

Liam was holding a large piece of paper, "You got it. Let's see...ok here goes," He started talking in a way to exaggerate his accent, as a way of being silly. Alice wouldn't have told him to his face, but she'd always found his accent, well, rather sexy. Liam had grown up in London and had such a posh accent she could practically hear the silver spoon in his mouth.

Liam read the rules more or less as they were written. The game came with a 6 sided die. They would take turns rolling and moving their token based on their roll. There were several different types of tiles they could land on. Treasure Chests, Traps, Challenges, Events and Questions. It didn't give examples of what those tiles did, but Liam said they would draw a card with the same symbol and it would explain itself.

There were just a few really strange things about the game. Liam read it in his best spooky voice, "Once the game has commenced no player shall be permitted to quit. Any attempt to circumvent this or any other rule shall be punished," He snorted, "Ha, what kind of game threatens it's players? Ok, almost done...the winner is the player who reaches the final tile. They win...a wish? Weird. It says the winner shall make a powerful wish to fulfill their own desires. Ok, before we begin it says we get to decide on some extra rules. The game contains universal rules, player rules, and individual rules. Universal rules apply across campus...campus? Maybe this game was made here? Player rules apply to the players on the game, and individual rules...target an individual. Only one rule may be active at a time, although for individual each player may have their own rule. It says to role the dice, the highest role decides the universal rule, the next highest the player rule, and the next the individual."

"What kind of rule are we supposed to make? We don't even know how this game works." Sophia asked.

Liam shrugged, "It doesn't say. Here. Read for yourself." He passed her the rules and picked up the dice. He tossed it, "Yes! 6!"

Garth picked it up lazily and chucked it. His landed on a 4. He passed it to Alice who nervously rolled a 5. "Here Sophia." She said passing it on.

Sophia set down the rules, "It just doesn't seem like enough information...but whatever. Let's just try...ok I got a 1. Guess Liam's up first."

Liam rubbed his chin, "A rule campus wide...I mean, how does that even make sense? Fine. My rules is this...everyone must address me as King Liam."

Sophia snorted, "Ok sure. King Liam, what a dork."

Liam winked at her, then looked at Alice, "And I guess you get a rule for just the players."

Alice tried sinking into her seat. This was so strange, she didn't want to make up a rule. Except everyone was staring at her, she had to say something, "Umm...players must...uh...take their turns swiftly." She wanted to get out of her asap, maybe that would speed people up.

Garth suddenly looked very animated, "My individual rule is Alice can't say um or ah or uh or noises like that." He deflated for a second, "Sorry Alice, it's just a little annoying."

Now Alice really wanted to hide, but instead she just nodded, "It's fine." She avoided looking at him, she was so embarrassed.

"It says the highest roll goes first, that's you King Liam." Sophia said.

Liam laughed, "I like this rule. Ok, here goes." He rolled a 5 and moved his token accordingly. It was a treasure chest tile. He picked up a card and read it, "It says...Negate Trap. Hold onto this card. Next time you land on a trap, discard it and do not draw a trap card. Sweet." Liam set the card down in front of him.

Alice was next and felt a compulsion to roll the dice immediately, or rather, swiftly, "A 1. It's a question card" She picked up her card and read it, "What? This game is gross..." She tried to put the card down without reading it, but she found that she couldn't. She had to read it, and she had to do it fast, "Would you rather never wear panties or never wear a bra?" She didn't want to answer such a gross question, but she had ****, she had to complete her turn swiftly after all, "No bra." She said.

Alice was rather petite, she didn't really need a bra for support. She was currently wearing a bralette, just something to help prevent her nipples from poking through. Still just because she didn't need her bra, didn't mean she would ever, ever, remove it in public...and yet she found herself pulling her arm into her shirt so she could slide her arm out of the bralette, then the other side, then pulling the bralette off and setting it on the table.

Garth was the first one to say anything, "Holy shit." Alice stared at her bra in horror. Why had she done that? This was a nightmare, right? She grabbed it and tried to put it back on, but her body just wouldn't cooperate. She tried to stand up and run away but her legs wouldn't work. She looked around, everyone was staring at her. Sophia looked sympathetic. Liam looked...eww...horny. Garth had a different look, Alice couldn't quite place it. Garth looked at Liam, "King Liam. Shit. L-King Liam. Guys. This is real."

Sophia looked at Garth, then over to Alice, "Alice...you don't have to do that you know..." Garth grabbed the dice and rolled. Sophia couldn't believe he was just brushing past this, "Garth! Stop that. Alice, what's going on?"

Alice was to upset to reply, but Garth tried to explain, "I don't know but try calling King Liam something else. Just try it. Alice didn't have a choice. I don't either, I have to complete my turn swiftly." Garth rolled a 6 and landed on a treasure chest. He tried to slow down as much as he could so Sophia and Liam could realize what was going on too."

"King Liam," Sophia said, furrowing her brow, "Wait. King Liam. King Liam."

Liam laughed, "Come on..." Then he stopped, "Wait...for real?"

Alice was crossing her arms over her chest, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. Not that anything had really changed after taking off her bralette, but still, she felt exposed.

Garth picked his card and read it, "Universal Rule. Say a new rule to replace the old one." He thought for a moment. He wanted something he could use to demonstrate to everyone how serious this was. "No lying." He decided.

"What?" Sophia said confused, "So now I can say...Liam. Ok, this is weird."

Liam looked back and forth between them, "No. You two are just pulling my leg."

"No. Listen. This game. It's magic or something. Trust me. Go ahead. Tell us a lie. Oh, tell us you hate soccer." Garth said.

"It's called football, but fine. I love football," Liam said. He raised his eyebrows and tried again, "I hate..." He paused as if the words wouldn't come out, "I hate...no. I love football. What...?"

Alice didn't need to try to lie, she knew it was real magic. That was the only explanation. She looked at Sophia who found herself picking up the dice. She rolled a 2, landed on a trap card. She picked up her card, "Can't wear pants. What? This game is weird." Suddenly she stood up and started removing her pants, "Oh my God. What's happening?" Sophia quickly pulled her pants down and stepped out of them. She sighed in relief. Then she looked straight at Alice, "Oh my God...it is real."
