David cycled between the colors, being drawn by the red. He wasn't sure what any of them did obviously, but he had a good feeling about the red one. He locked in his answer and pointed the gun at Seth's body, ready to save his roommate, or at least he hoped.
A shot fired out, and much like the blue beam it quickly made its way to Seth's inanimate body, but to David's horror, what happened next was not expected at all. Seth's body ignited with some sort of flame, but not an actual flame, more like an artificially produced one. Regardless, it sure as hell acted as a flame as the skinsuit slowly singed away, leaving David frozen. Even if he had gotten the will to move in the moment, there wouldn't be any saving Seth at this point, his body was already burning away, and David could see the rips forming on his skin.
Seth's body had fully burned away, leaving only a small pile of ashes where he once laid. David stared at that pile, replaying everything that just happened, wondering what he could have done to save his roommate. Poor Seth, he was truly gone now. David looked down at the gun he was still holding, wondering what power he had just possessed. Something that could turn people into flat inanimate corpses and burn them to a crisp?
David could go investigate the ashes, or he could leave. And what about the gun? What did he do with the gun? All these thoughts and more filled David's still shocked mind.
