Who was introduced next?
The psychologist.
Hane's portrait window shrunk and joined the ten women at the bottom of the giant LED video wall to give room for a beautiful Chinese woman with black shoulder-length hair.
"Please welcome Dr. Lauren Cheung!"
The studio audience clapped.
"Please call me Lauren," the young doctor smiled graciously.
"You're a psychologist, so I assume you will be working with Hane during the project?" Julie asked.
"Yes, while she studies the possible adverse effects of space travel on the human brain I'll be monitoring the mental health of the crew for any psychological distress or physical problems with an underlying psychological cause. Even though NASA picks the best of the best, we are all human and have the same issues for millennia. An astronaut, who's trained rigorously to withstand stressors, may still experience symptoms like difficulty sleeping, irritability, mood swings, feelings of discouragement, or heightened nervousness or anxiety, there's a greater cause for concern because they’re trapped in a confirmed spaceship for a long duration. There's no going out for air to clear your head in outer space!"
The studio audience laughed.
"So you're there to help everyone stay sane?"
"Pretty much," Lauren smirked. "We will make sure everyone has time to de-stress, be it some alone time, watching movies and TV shows, listen to music, or play video games."
"Will the crew get to watch the latest movies or TV series?" Julie wondered.
"Regrettably we won't have any Internet or telephone access because as part of the isolation experiment we won't have any access to the outside world," Jonathan chimed in and glanced at his mother. "So will have to bring all of the music, games, movies, and shows we want to watch or play for the next two years with us."
"So will NASA be monitoring you during the next two years?" Julie wondered.
Lauren shook her head. "Unlike the show you host, there won't be cameras everywhere around the facility nor will we have microphones. If we knew we are constantly watched and listened to we would behave differently so NASA wants us to monitor ourselves with daily logs as well as weekly appointments with Hane and myself."
"So no alliances?" Julie smirked.
The studio audience chuckled.
"No, I hope not!" Lauren replied. "We will be there as a team with a shared goal."
The studio audience clapped.
"As Hane has mentioned, one of the complications of space travel is fatigue, which affects alertness and performance of the crew member, due to sleeping problems," Lauren added. "Since we will be an enclosed facility with no access to the outside world, not unlike a simulated spaceship travelling to a distant planet, our circadian cycle may be out of sync."
"The circadian cycle is our internal clock?" Julie wondered.
"Correct, it's a natural internal process that regulates our sleep-wake cycle that repeats every twenty-four hours," Lauren nodded.
"Helping us monitor the crew will be ROBoT," Lauren continued. "The technology that Allison, Leah, Natalie, and Zoe is working on will help us gather and analyze data on the crew's emotional and mental states as well as sleeping habits."
"That's very interesting. Thank you, Lauren," Julie nodded and then turned to face a camera. "After we return from the commercial break we will hopefully get the answer to the burning question that's on everyone's mind: Why is the entire crew of the Priapus Program all Asian?"

Project Priapus
NASA's plan for a space harem.
One day human will journey to Alpha Centauri, the closest star to the Solar System, on a generation ship -- this means they need the best men and women on a space ark. The protagonist was inspired by Jonathan Kim, an American US Navy lieutenant (and former SEAL), physician, and NASA astronaut.
