Commercial break.

"And we're clear!" the floor manager announced and the stagehands scrambled around as the giant LED wall display turned off.

Julie calmly turned off her microphone and walked off stage to talk to her producers while stagehands scrambled around. Standing up, Iris fiddled with her microphone until her son helped her. This gave the stagehands the opportune moment to come on stage to swap their chairs with stools.

"They are very beautiful, very smart, good professions, and all Chinese!" Iris whispered to Jonathan. "Did you choose them?"

"I wasn't on the project selection committee," Jonathan replied, raising both hands up to show his innocence and honesty. "I had nothing to do with their applications and candidacy."

Iris eyed her son suspiciously for a moment and then nodded with a smile. "Okay, I am not complaining! Any one of them would make a good wife for you and mother to my grandchildren!"

"Mom!" Jonathan blurted out, nervously looking around them to see if anyone else had heard what she had said.

"You will be alone with twelve women for two years!" Iris whispered. "Aiya! I hope one of them can cook!"

"Mom, I can cook..." Jonathan sighed. He regretted inviting his mother to the show but he knew he would not hear the end of it from her if he hadn't.

"I will email you my recipes..." she said, looking down at her phone.

"Mom, we'll have limited variety of ingredients," Jonathan tried to explain.

"I know..." she smiled up at him, her eyes watering.

"Thank you, Mom," he smiled back and kiss her on the cheek. He loved his mother and part of him was happy to be away from her for two years but he was saddened at the fact that she would be very lonely with him being an only child and his father died a few years back.

"You will be a good boy and treat the girls well!" she sniffed.

"Of course I will, Mom," he smiled, wiping her tear away. "You taught me to be a gentleman."

A stagehand approached and motioned for Jonathan to follow him to backstage. "I'll be right back, Mom."

Julie came back on the stage and smiled at Iris. "Everything okay?"

Iris nodded. "I was telling my son how very proud I am of him and will miss him."

"Yes, as a mother of a son myself I understand," Julie replied, touching Iris' hands with a genuine smile and not her typical TV eccedentesiast one.

Jonathan reappeared wearing his blue NASA flight suit.

A stagehand motioned for them to sit on the stools and turn their microphones back on. "We're going live in five... four... three..."

Julie looked directly into a camera. "Welcome back to our interview with Jonathan Lee and the twelve female members of the Priapus Program!"

The studio audience clapped.

Julie turned to Jonathan with an inquisitive look. "Everyone has noticed that the entire crew of the Priapus Program are all Asian..."

"Chinese!" Iris interrupted.

"Yes, Chinese-Americans," Julie corrected. "Why is that and instead of a mix of different ethnicities and races?"
