The number on the tag

Cathy had gone back to Lara apartment and after searching eventually found a phone number on a tag inside the suitcase Lara had used to pack her few belongings, Kate was surprised to get a call on the landline as it almost never rang but after getting an ear full from a very angry woman on the other end calling her a bad mother and even threatening to call the police if she didn't pick up her eight year old daughter immediately, at first she thought it nothing but a bad joke and she was going to hang up until she heard what was undoubtably Lara's voice ask for a drink.

Arriving at the apartment Kate was again berated by the woman the second she opened the door, Kate started to explain but stopped when she realised there was no way to without revealing the secret of Lara's curse so she made up a quick story about being called to an emergency with no time to find a sitter for Lara hoping that would appease her, just as Cathy was about to respond the door bell went again and she went to answer it leaving Kate a chance to finally speak with Lara alone who had remained quiet so far, "what did you do Lara and why does this woman think you were are a child?" she said with more anger spilling out than she expected to, "i'm sorry mummy i didn't do anything" Lara replied looking a little scared.
