The next day

Soon after Melissa had to excuse herself to go to cocktail meeting with some of the people from her office. Jodi allowed me to crawl into bed with her, where I lay solemnly for a while with my back to her and pretended to sleep.

For the first time since she and I started whatever our little thing is, I felt guilty. I hadn't just flirted with another woman, I had straight up and unquestionably cheated on Kim. The next day was a blur. I passed Melissa and some of her coworkers in the corridor several times, she only smiled. My guilt at what I had done had faded, and in its place was a renewed confidence. I had had sex with a girl practically young enough to be my daughter last night!
