The most shocking thing of all. Normalcy.

Raven flipped the page of her book, sitting on the couch. Argent sat on the floor, playing with her teddy bear. Glancing up, Raven smiled. "Hi, Johnny. You feeling better already?" she asked.

I let out a sigh of relief. Raven clearly still loved me. Her smile was caring, her eyes seemed to twinkle...but it wasn't bordering on insanity anymore. She was calm, keeping her hands to herself. "Yeah," I replied. "I'm feeling much better." Actually, I was still pretty damn tired, but the relief I felt that I didn't have to deal with insane and/or violent robots based on cartoon characters. It was a load off my shoulders.

I plopped on the couch. "Yeah...sorry about that," Raven said with a sheepish smile. "I guess we got a little...excited." Argent looked up from her bear. "Uh huh...we didn't mean to hurt you, Daddy," she added. Well, she still called me Daddy. ...I could live with that. So long as she didn't do it in public. That would be really awkward.

I smiled at them, holding up my hands. "Relax, girls. I'm fine. Nothing a little rest and a lot of fluids won't cure," I assured them. Raven scooted closer. "Good...we'd hate to have to go TOO easy on you next time," she purred before resting her head on my shoulder as she read.

...this was actually pretty cozy. I still had to wonder what the operator meant when she said she'd see me soon though...
