Chapter 316 by lew54321 lew54321

What had they been talking about?

The mice will play

“I mean there's a few places I’ve been thinking of going if you two wanted to tag along?” Lucy announced, getting nods and noises of approval from both Mom and Sarah as you looked at each of them to figure out what you had missed.

“I’d like that, we haven’t had some time together since last weekend so I think it’d be nice for the three of us to do something like we did last weekend. Minus Max this time” Mom replied, giving you an apologetic look.

From what you could tell as they continued making plans, they were trying to figure out what they would do at the weekend while you were away. You didn’t have any reason to feel bad about them excluding you as their lives shouldn’t stop just because you weren’t around. The only change in expression they might see on your face was that you were glad to have zoned back into the conversation just before Mom had looked your way.

The three talked about where they could go and you even gave a few suggestions, places you had heard about and a movie or two when the cinema came up, ones that you probably wouldn’t watch on your own but something they would hopefully enjoy. The conversation came to an end when they decided to spend Saturday going out and then Sunday staying at home for a ‘girls day’, giving you chance to say you would most likely be back later in the day.

Mom still wanted Sarah to have some free time for school work so with the promise that she would make progress on that tonight, Mom would be more lenient for the rest of the weekend.

You were just about finished with your food when the doorbell rang and caught everyone’s attention, Mom being the first to get up while you were half standing in front of your chair.

“Sit and finish your plate. It’s probably Grace so I’ll go and speak with her” Mom said, letting Sarah and Lucy get up from the table as they had taken smaller portions than you.

You listened out between your final bites and sure enough, Grace’s voice was the first you heard, shortly followed by Emma’s and then Mom’s. Emma appeared at the door to the dining room shortly after while you could hear Mom and Grace already chatting up a storm.

“Quick, I have something to show you” you eagerly announced, moving a chair at the side of you for Emma to take a seat while it was now just the two of you in the room.

You took out your phone and showed her the new shop items you had been looking at and then stopped on the ‘Crystal Ball’ to show her the details.

“This was the one that caught my eye. It’s expensive but you were the first person I thought to potentially use it with. You’d get to see your effects earlier and I know you have been worrying about that. Plus that would be the first level 5 and that seems to be the final level for subjects” you explained, relaying your thoughts to her about it.

“It’s very expensive. Haven’t you been saving your points so far?” Emma asked.

“There’s always the Monday weekly shop item that needs to be bought but there’s no way of knowing what price that’s gonna be. It could be something cheap but that is one of the few reasons I'm hesitating” you answered.

Emma nodded in understanding and considered the option more carefully.

“I mean this seems to always be the answer we come up with but do you think we should wait until Monday then? There’s no rush to find out my effects and there’s no chance we get ninety thousand seconds done in a weekend” Emma suggested.

You couldn’t help but agree even if you had the impulse to buy it immediately. Your points total at the moment felt high but with just that one purchase you would be struggling to buy anything if you needed it and based on how the weekly shop item worked, it was indeed something you would most likely need.

“You’re right. Turns out you can be my voice of reason at least some of the time” you joked, getting a light shove on the shoulder.

“I should always be your voice of reason” Emma replied with a pout.

“Yeah I’m sure all of your ideas will never get us into trouble. Like us wandering into Grace’s room” you reminded.

“Well, we would have never gotten the handcuffs if we didn’t do that” Emma replied, making a valid point but what Grace had said before you left Emma’s room earlier was still in your mind.

You took a longer look around to make sure you weren’t being watched and huddled even closer to Emma.

“I don’t know if you heard her but your mom mentioned her pillow to me before me and Sarah left, she whispered it to me and try to surprise me with it” you said, catching Emma up on what she missed.

“Wait why would she tell you then? If she knew, I would have thought she’d save that for when we were both in the car” Emma pondered, unsure of Grace’s motives.

“Maybe she wanted to see my reaction first before she got the story from both of us? Has she said anything to you since we’ve been gone or have you just been packing?” you asked, remembering the KDK map showing them in separate rooms earlier.

“She asked me what you, me and Sarah were all doing in my room but nothing about my kink or anything. I just said you two came over after school to study and we wanted to spend some time with Sarah before we left for the weekend. Not a complete lie but I don’t think she bought it” Emma answered, neither of you confident in your ability to lie when it came to being put on the spot.

A few seconds of silence passed as you both knew what was coming shortly thereafter, hoping the conversation you could hear off in the hallway would last for as long as possible.

“So are you still okay with us being mostly honest with your mom?” you queried, the existence of the KDK being a topic you were nowhere near ready to reveal.

“It’s an embarrassing topic to throw at her but if we want to have the same experience we have with Sarah with her, it’s the next logical step forward” Emma admitted, her voice dropping in tone as she continued. “And I really want to see what you can do to her once she gives in”

The images of Grace and Emma together quickly flashed through your head but the sound of two sets of footsteps coming closer left you with little time for your fantasies as you and Emma moved slightly further apart, not wanting to get caught looking too suspicious when you were this close to starting your trip.

“Are you two ready to go?” Grace asked, Mom quickly following up behind her in the doorway from where they had been talking.

Author’s note: Hey all, another reminder that I will be taking a 4 chapter break between the 9th and the 16th. I do have a question to leave with you though. Since I’ve been writing the spoiler chapter I’ve been avoiding putting people’s status pages and number values in to avoid people seeing repeats, but I’ve realised that people catching up with the story have less of an idea on progress and people aren’t likely to check that every 10 chapters after it’s updated.

Just wanted to see if people would like the basic character values back throughout or if how it’s working now is going well?

Are you ready for the car ride?
