The market (400 gold)

You go to the markets and look for anybody who knows anything about a nun passing by the area. Nobody really cares about your words, who would care about a nun passing by here...? There is a monastery just outside the city where you could find a lot of nuns, why aren't you asking there, they wonder. But not one merchant. He was busy selling gemstones when he heard you are looking for a nun, which fits the description of one he saw.

Merchant: Young lady, I may know who you are looking for!

Lily (walking to the merchant): Do you? Please, tell me all you know, it is very important!

Merchant: Of course of course, I'll tell you everything! Now, I was returning from my usual gemstone distributor from the north a week ago, when I was passing by two nuns outside the city on the road. One of them was looking like just exactly you were describing!

Lily: Really?!

Merchant: Yes! The other nun was from the city, I see her regularly walking that road. She has ear problems you know, anybody who wants to talk to her has to shout! Now, I was riding back to the city, when I heard an other nun shouting to her, asking about directions to a certain city.

Lily: Which city?! I must know!

Merchant: Of course, of course well... what was she asking about exactly... hmmm... maybe a little gold would help me refresh my memory a bit!

Lily: Oh you...! Okay, how much?

Merchant: Since it's so important to you how about... 1000 gold?

Lily: NO! I would have you strangled and get the info pressed from your almost lifeless body than pay that much!

Merchant: Alright, alright, no need to be impatient, we are merely bargaining the right price here! 600?

Lily: No, 200!

Merchant: Oh come on, this way I'm never going to make a living my lady! Certainly this very important information is worth more to you...! Like, 500!

Lily: 300!

Merchant (loudly and painfully): Oooh, if you only knew that my family was starving! All the profit I make here goes for the feeding of my family! Imagine my children rarely seeing their dad because he has to be far away from the city to get the gems he sells...! 400...?

Lily: Fine!

Merchant: Oh thank you very much, you have just made the deal of your life! Now, she was asking about directions to a city at the coast just north of the Pyrenees. They seemed to know what she was talking about, but I have no idea which city that may be!

Lily: Thanks for the info. Oh and... You aren't even married, you aren't having a ring on your finger! Find a better excuse next time!

Merchant: Oh ehm...about that...! I sold that too to feed my family, I swear...! Never doubt the words of a merchant!

Lily (to herself): I hope it won't come to that...!
