The journey begins

The next morning, I was awoken early by Agnes. It was not dawn yet, but the Dwarven emissaries preferred to leave early since the journey could take a couple of weeks, even a month! We would first have to travel to the Elven port of Auberdine, where we would take the ship to the Wetlands. Korant had told me all about it and about the magnificent ships that the dwarves used. Contrary to what my sister said yesterday, I had not been on one of them before and I had never stepped foot inside of Ironforge so I actually felt excited. It was an adventure!

The drawback, of course, was that I would leave Highpeak behind. The last time I had left was for a hunting trip five or six years ago. I was only away for two days, yet it felt like months! This time, I would actually be gone for months...

Agnes noticed I was feeling nervous so she tried to cheer me up.

“I’ve heard all these amazing stories about the dwarves, my prince! They are fine artisans. You will see masterful works of stone and iron there!”

She kept trying to get me excited about them. I was excited, truly, but I still couldn’t shake that nagging feeling in my stomach. Regardless, it was time to go.

An hour later, Korant and I were down at the stables, finalising the packing...
