The crimson chrysalis

(Author's note: When I started writing I honestly never thought I'd get this far. If someone had told me a couple of years ago I would write at least 500 chapters on chyoa. I would have told him or her they were nuts. Well, here it is. Enjoy! :3)

As Blair and Caesar made the final turn before Uggozan's throne room, a new quest appeared in the center of her view.

Event Quest!

Ensure the swarm's rebirth

- Enter the throne room and follow Zryzor's instructions

- Make sure the crimson chrysalis survives for 5 minutes

Reward: 200 xp, 30 Rp with Uggozan, 25 Rp with Zryzor, and 15 Rp with Izohra

Optional: Do this without any hesitation or question.

Reward: 300 xp and 25 Rp with Zryzor

This quest will begin upon entering Uggozan's throne room.

Blair was a little surprised by the statement at the bottom of this quest. It was obvious by the name and nature of this quest that this would be quite important. She knelt down and rubbed the top of Caesar's head. "I don't know what we'll find in there, but we have to keep Zryzor and the crimson chrysalis safe. Got all that?" His expression became serious before letting out a soft bark. It was cute how ready for action he was. She leaned in and kissed the top of his head. "Good. Let's go."

Upon entering the room, Blair could see a rather huge red chrysalis in the center of the room riddled with razor sharp spikes along the hexagonal points around the fleshy structure, it looked like it could house three people inside. Her eyes were drawn to a mountain of insectoid bodies littering the floor of the entire chamber. This is when she heard a sound to her right. When she looked, she saw Zryzor mixing several chemical solutions in midair. A series of clicks and chirps were heard as if inquiring something of itself. Before she could say anything, Zryzor spoke without looking at her. "Your assistance is~s required." She smiled. "Whatever you need." Caesar let out a soft bark.

Zryzor continued to focus on its task. "Seal chamber. Pile insectoid corpses~s as close as possible to the chrysalis~s. Quickly." Blair went to work with Caesar's help. After two minutes, they managed to remove enough dirt from a wall outside of the chamber to seal the chamber with them inside. Caesar rushed over to one of the bodies to bite into it and growled, slowly pulling it toward the chrysalis. She giggled, but began to work with his help to stack up the bodies as close and best as she could to the chrysalis.

Shortly after the last body was slung into place, a rumble was felt throughout the chamber. Zryzor hands slowly waved up and down like flowing water, the floating chemicals were weaving neatly together, but were creating a rather potent odor. "Defend chrysalis~s. Failure. Unacceptable." Blair and Caesar got on either side of the chrysalis to prepare for what was coming. It was at that moment a timer of one minute popped up and started to count down at the exact moment a swarm rats and ants flooded the room from the ceiling.

Blair did her best to keep these rats and ants away from the chrysalis, but she could only do so much without being able to cast Flames of Passion. Its radius was too big for this chamber and would likely destroy the chrysalis in the process. Caesar on the other hand used his Cone of Frost every chance he could, but he was limited to once every ten seconds. That was when an idea came to mind. If she used Lightning Jab, its damage would likely chain to a few of the others due to their size. She toggled on Lightning Jab and to her fortune, it worked, but at a high cost. 5 x 10 = - 50 Mp

Blair and Caesar took minimal damage during this time, but it was clear that they managed to eat through a decent amount of the bodies around the chrysalis. She managed to strike eleven more times before the timer ran out and Zryzor's voice filled the room. 50 x 11 = - 550 Mp "Solution complete. Applying catalyst." A new exclamation flashed, but she was too distracted to notice it. Zryzor's palms pointed in the direction of the chrysalis, causing the golden solution to envelope it and the bodies around it, taking some of the rats and ants with it. During this time the rats and ants began to flee and her quest turned itself in.

Reward: 200 xp + (20 xp), 30 Rp with Uggozan, 25 Rp with Zryzor, and 15 Rp with Izohra

Optional bonus: 300 xp + (30 xp) and 25 Rp with Zryzor

Experience has increased from 1,142/4,200 to 1,692/4,200.

Rp with Uggozan has increased from 120 to 150.

Rp with Zryzor has increased from 50 to 100.

Rp with Izohra has increased from 85 to 100.

Caesar's level has increased from 8 to 10.

The odor from the solution quickly vanished upon melding with the chrysalis, taking all of the corpses with it. The heat in the room began to rise as chemically induced lightning coursed over the chrysalis. Zryzor knelt down, bringing its right hands over its chest. "Awaiting instruction." Blair's eyes watched carefully as the lightning started to show not one, but two figures within the chrysalis. The outline was that of a man and a woman holding hands, but neither body resembled Izohra's or Uggozan's. Did Uggozan and Izohra give Zryzor the task of creating these beings? That question would be answered soon enough.

A few seconds later, the top of the chrysalis sections opened slowly, spreading out like a flower before collapsing like a banana's peel under its own weight. The liquid that had been inside poured out onto the ground. As the liquid rushed out, Caesar used his Cone of Frost to keep it from touching Blair or himself. Blair's eyes were focused on the two standing in the center where the chrysalis had once stood. She used Observe on both of them to see what and who she was looking at.

Blair's eyes widened upon realizing who they actually were, but they looked like completely different people. Izohra was actually manly looking. His once soft wavy blond hair was now stiff, rough, and straight, reaching down to the top of his shoulder blades. His eyes had darkened to an ocean blue and his thin round eyebrows were now thick enough to be easily seen. His face still lacked any facial hair, but his chin and jawline were more defined, giving his once round face a more masculine and oval appearance. This slightly accented his bow-shaped lips.

More impressive was Izohra's body. His body muscles were slightly sculpted, giving him a rather healthy, masculine, and attractive look. His pointed ears and skin had changed dramatically. The angle of his ears were sharper, causing them to look more Elven than before whereas his skin had thickened to a thin, but dense carapace layer matching his original tanned skin tone. Interestingly enough his body didn't have a single hair, allowing his sizable member to look bigger than it might otherwise.

Uggozan on the other hand didn't resemble her original self at all. She had soft features and no longer had a very hard wasp-like exterior. It was obvious that she was not used to the new form, but she looked happy nonetheless. Her face was round as were her eyebrows. She had light green eyes, light red heart-shaped lips, and stiff, rough, and straight parted down the middle light blonde hair, reaching down just below her ears. Her skin looked similar to Izohra's a thin, but dense tanned carapace layer. Unlike her original rectangular figure, her curvy and athletic figure was quite the sight. Her nipples were medium size, but her areolas were small.

As Blair's eyes ran down Uggozan's form, she was surprised to see that Uggozan's abs were slightly more defined than Izohra's, but attractive nonetheless. Uggozan's body did not have a single hair anywhere, leaving her pussy bare. Blair's eyes refocused on them both and smiled seeing that they had been holding hands this entire time. They looked like a rather cute couple, but as her eyes ran once again along their forms. She felt her cheeks redden, getting slightly excited over this delightful eyeful. Caesar let out a soft bark and walked over to them and started to sniff them carefully.

Blair wasn't too sure what to do at this moment. There was a twisted kink in her mind. 'Mm, it would be fun to have a threesome. Although it would be inconsiderate of me to do so now. Hmm, I could always talk them into it later.' With all of this in mind. What should she do? Should she congratulate them on their transformation and suggest the threesome?
