The bus ride
Jason started off up the aisle of the bus noting where the more attractive passengers were and staggering every time the bus changed gear or went around a bend. He had almost a 30 minute journey and he did not plan on standing the whole way. He picked up a Metro on the way in and carefully got his pen out, leaning against one of the support poles for balance.
On this bus, if I tap someone on the shoulder they will get up and get off at the next stop, he wrote on the cover page.
An overweight, balding man was sitting next to an attractive woman in her thirties in a long skirt. The woman had a light blouse on and looked out the window through her oversized glasses.
Jason patted the gent on the shoulder and he got up like a shot almost running down the aisle to the door allowing Jason to drop down heavily next to his fellow commuter so closely that their hips were touching. The woman edged away from him slightly towards the window on her left hand side.
Jason unfolded his Metro and found a page with enough blank space to write. On this bus, no-one will make a fuss or cause a scene no matter what happens. Pleased with this idea, he refolded the metro and put it down on the floor as he had no further use for it at the moment. He turned to look at the woman without bothering to hide his interest.
The woman pretended not to notice. She blushed slightly, but turned and looked out of the window.
Jason leaned back and stretched, then let his right hand alight on his right knee and his left hand on hers.
The woman's eyes opened wide. She turned to stare at the hand sitting on top of her knee. Surely this was some aberration. He couldn't have done that deliberately! Should she say something? No, ...best not. She reached out and gently pushed the hand away, sliding it off her knee. There. That was better. Just a moment's mistake. All dealt with and no scene caused. Everything was fine.
He put his hand on her knee again. This time squeezing it a little. This time, when she went to gently push it off, he held it stubbornly. What should she do? she thought panicking. She couldn't very well shout. That would be too embarrassing. Should she say something? No. She might get an argument. Maybe she should just sit there. He must realize what he's doing at some point and take his hand off of her. She ignored it. Thankfully, a short while later, he retrieved his hand and she breathed a mental sigh of relief. However, this was only short lived.
The man next to her, who she had never met before, reached up and put his arm around her shoulders as if they were in the back row of a cinema. WTF!!!!
