The Relief Of Coming Home

Chapter 55 by Reader83

The weekend had been very good for Patrick. On Saturday, they had a pool party and he was able to hang out with all of his friends as well as his girlfriends. On Sunday, he had hung out with Jenn and Sue. It was now Monday and he was hoping that things continued to go well for the rest of the new week as well. That quickly changed when his mom got a call on her cell phone as Patrick, Jenn, Sue, Josephine and Claude were all eating their breakfast.

“Hey sweetie. How are you this morning?” Josephine said when she answered the phone knowing that it was Debbie on the other end.

They could only hear Josephine’s end of the conversation, but when they saw her face turn to one of worry, they all knew something must be wrong. “Hold on, sweetie. Take a breath and tell me what is going on slowly.” Josephine said.

Josephine listened and when Debbie was done explaining what was going on, she answered back, “Okay. I want you to come home now. I will set up an appointment with Dr. Simmons and I will take off work so I can go to the appointment with you.”

Debbie was now talking on the other end of the phone as Josephine listened and then Josephine said, “I will see you in an hour sweetie. We will figure this out.”

Josephine hung up her phone and knew that questions would be coming from the rest of the family. “What’s wrong with Deb?” Sue was the first to ask.

“I think she was having a panic attack. From what she was saying, it wasn’t the first time since the new semester started, but she thought she could work through it. I think this was the worst one yet and it seems that she now knows that she needs some help.” Josephine said.

“Well, It would probably do her some good to just hang around here and relax for a few days and then we can figure out what to do after that.” Claude said.

“I am glad that she is going to be getting some help though. These kinds of things are not anything to play around with.” Jenn said.

“Yeah, so as long as Debbie is home, we need to make sure that we make things easy as we can for her.” Josephine said.

“I will help her out with things, mom.” Patrick said.

“Yeah, me too.” Sue said as Josephine stood up and walked out of the room to make an appointment for Debbie and call into work and take the day off.

. . .

Debbie arrived home an hour and a half later and all that was still at the house was Josephine who was watching television waiting for her daughter to get home. When Debbie walked through the door, Josephine stood up and made her way to Debbie and gave her a big hug.

“I wish you had told me about this earlier. I am sorry that you had to go through this alone, since I know you well enough to know that you most likely didn’t tell Marybeth either.” Josephine said.

“I thought I could work through it on my own, but it just kept getting worse and worse. I know that I need to get some kind of help though. I thought I was going crazy there for a while.” Debbie said as she was sniffing some as she had been crying for a while now.

“Don’t worry, sweetie. We will figure this out. I got you an appointment in an hour from now. Dr. Simmons will probably want to put you on some kind of medication and see how that works. Anxiety is nothing to play around with.” Josephine said.

“Yeah, I have figured that out.” Debbie said as her eyes shown with uncried tears, but she was able to smile at her mother.

“I don’t know if I can go back to school right now, mom. Even if I am on medication I know it takes a while to get into your system, so it won’t be an immediate relief and that means that until the medicine starts to work, I will be in the same situation that I am now.” Debbie said.

“We will see what the doctor says. She might give you some time off anyway.” Josephine said and Debbie nodded as they both sat on the couch and watched television for a little while with Josephine having her arm around her daughter’s shoulders and holding her close.

. . .

Debbie and Josephine walked into a room at the doctor’s office and waited for Dr. Simmons to come in and see them. It only took a few minutes and a woman who was in her mid-thirties walked into the room. She had dark brown hair and green eyes. She was wearing a doctor’s coat, so you couldn’t see her body, but Josephine and Debbie knew the doctor outside of the office, so they knew that she had a nice slender body, with large tits and a well sculpted ass.

“So Debbie, I hear you have been having anxiety attacks. Can you explain your latest one to me?” Dr. Simmons asked with a kind smile on her face.

“Okay. That would actually be this morning. I had a test today and I have been studying hard for it. Well, when I woke up this morning something just hit me, like something was telling me that I hadn’t studied enough and the panic just raised from there until it felt like I could barely move. That is when I called mom and she told me to come home and she made the appointment with you.” Debbie said.

“I agree. This sounds like a panic attack. How many have you had this semester so far?” Dr. Simmons asked.

“I have had them pretty much every time that I have had a test or a paper due. Today was the worst though.” Debbie said.

“Okay, so since the beginning of the semester then?” Dr. Simmons asked.

“Yeah, pretty much.” Debbie said.

“Well, here is what I am going to do for now. I am going to put you on some medicine. I am also going to give you a note for you to take to college. You need to rest and not worry about anything for now. I want you to go to college and drop all of your classes for the rest of the semester and we will make another appointment for early December and see if you are able to go back to school next semester.” Dr. Simmons said and this caused Debbie to breathe a sigh of relief.

“Thanks. I knew that I was going to need some time off, but I wasn’t thinking it would be that long.” Debbie said.

“Well, you might need to take next semester off as well or at the very least, maybe you could take some online classes.” Dr. Simmons said and Debbie nodded.

“Thanks, doc. So, is there anything else?” Debbie asked.

“I want you to stay away from anything stressful for the next week. If you start to feel better with that break, then I suggest you start to do normal things. That along with the medicine should really help you out. I want you to take the first pill as soon as you pick them up at the pharmacy. You need to go on and get it into your system so that it can start to work.” Dr. Simmons said.

“Will do. Thanks for the help, doc.” Debbie said and the doctor showed her and her mother out.

Debbie set up her next appointment for December and then left with her doctor’s note for college and her appointment. She and Josephine drove to the pharmacy and picked up her prescription as well. The two of them then decided that they should drive up to the college then and get all of Debbie’s classes dropped, which wasn’t hard being that she had the doctor’s note excusing her from her classes for the rest of the semester. That allowed Debbie to breathe even easier now that was over.

The two of them rode back home just talking about what had been going on around Big Lake lately. Nothing much it seemed had happened lately, but Debbie still loved to hear about how things were going in her hometown. That was how they spent the rest of the way home.

. . .

It was 5 in the afternoon once Debbie and Josephine arrived home and they saw that Patrick, Sue and Jenn were already home and they knew that Claude would be home soon as well, as he got off at 5 everyday. Patrick and Sue were the first to make it to Debbie as both of them pulled their older sister into a group hug.

“I am sorry you are going through this, sis. Just know that we are here to help you.” Patrick said.

“Yeah, I will try not to annoy you too much.” Sue said with a smirk and Debbie couldn’t help but smile back at her.

“Thanks, Pat. I will probably need it. And as for you, I would expect nothing less than you to annoy the crap out of me. It is what you do best.” Debbie said and both of her siblings smiled at her.

Next Jenn made her way over to her and hugged her tight. Her mom and Jenn always gave the best hugs. It must be something that is in the Turner 's blood. As her aunt pulled back from the hug, she said, “Let me know if you need anything. If I am around. I will be happy to help you.” Jenn said.

“I will keep that in mind, but truthfully, I don’t want any of you to baby me. I am getting help now and hopefully I will be back to normal within the next week or so.” Debbie said.

“Well, either way, it is good to have you home. I have missed you since you left to go back to college.” Patrick said.

“And that is why you are my favorite sibling. You are always happy to have me home.” Debbie said, winking at Patrick as she knew what was coming next.

“Hey, I like having you home too. Why is Patrick your favorite?” Sue asked.

“Because he doesn’t annoy the crap out of me.” Debbie said with a smirk and Sue looked at her with a shocked look on her face and then all three of the siblings laughed and their mother and aunt soon joined in.

“You know I am just messing with you, Sue. I don’t play favorites.” Debbie said.

“I know. It is good to have you home though. Just think of all the fun we can have once everything is back to normal for you.” Sue said and Debbie shook her head at her sister’s antics.

“We will see about that when your sister starts to feel better. Until then, let’s try to make things as easy on her as possible.” Josephine said and Patrick and Sue nodded as the three siblings went into the living room and sat down together to watch some television until it was time to eat dinner.

Being home seemed to already be starting to work its magic on Debbie as she was less stressed than she had been in a long time. She just hoped this worked as she didn’t want to feel the way that she had for the last month ever again if possible.
